Okay this is probably a really dumb thread but im actually curious about these two games. Well, 7DTD more specifically since we all know most of everything about Rust. Lately I've been seeing fans of these two games excessively shitting on each other. Im not asking which is the better game, they're both in alpha at the moment so its impossible to know. I hear they are very similar in mechanics and objectives, etc. What sets these games apart? I havent been able to look into 7DTD yet since i think its a little expensive, but I figured you guys might have an idea.

I've had zombies trash my structure trying to get to me and it collapses out from under me. Something that Rust does not have. Rust is refreshingly devoid of any serious "zombie" encounters. If they added the same structure physics, I think it would be rather awesome.
well 7 days to die is a zombie survival game. Rust will get some kind of replacement for the zombies.
they're removing zombies
The main focus of each game is very different. ie. PVE vs PVP zombies vs (insert placeholder NPC here) building for resistance against swarms of npc vs building for survival against players
Okay so 7DTD is pretty much only PvE and has building physics, which Rust doesn't. Alright but there's much more to ask. Which do you feel has more room to grow. Rust is great and all but there really isn't a whole lot to it, anyone looking specifically for a more PvE focused environment is gonna be pretty disappointed. Personally I think Rust has a lot of potential but it has a long ways to go yet.
7D2D has good PVP but multiplayer is complete shit and you will never find a server with more than 15 people on it. All aside it is a great game with good gunplay and is rather fun. Comparing Rust and 7D2D is like comparing Rayman to Amnesia
