Some help with banning players - Rust

So I was testing ban on my friend to make sure it works and see how it worked and I noticed I could ONLY ban him by player name WHEN hes online and banid did nothing. I even added his steam ID to both banlist.cfg and ban.cfg and nothing. Is there anyone with some experience banning players using steam ID that can give me a hand. There were some guys running around aimbotting in me server (I know cause while I was invis they were head shoting me from across the fields) and they must have realized something was a foot cause they left the server before I could lay down the hammer. Thank you

I could really use some help on this one. I have players that connect to my server using Asian or Russian characters in there name and Rust console does not seem to accept that as a valid name to ban. When I go to ban by banid "STEAM_0:1:3210" it does not register to the server or it plain just does not work. Can ANYONE help with this or give me some ideas I can use to be able to ban people using Asian or Russian characters on my server that I know are cheating. Wait for VAC to MAYBE catch their injector and ban them a good month later is not going to cut it here. OR just tell me how much of an idiot I am and give me the correct way to ban people using steam ID. Thank you

No I just put my steam ID up lol and I KNOW there is invisible gear in the game my problem is not CATCHING cheaters its banning them by their steam ID once they have left the server or are using Asian/Russian characters in their name. I feel like neither of you even took the time to read what I am asking and just wanted to post to see your own post or something.

question teamvortex, how do you find someone's steamid? i looked a players profile up by looking up their in game handle and found nothing.

I believe the actual ID's just "0:1:3210". I believe that you have to remove the "STEAM_". Source: I myself banned 3 players 2 days ago.
