System.NullReferenceException Error

This is the error I am constantly getting when I try to join a server:

I have been playing on the same server with friend for a couple of weeks now. One of my friends gets the same error while he is at home but when he tried to connect at work it worked just fine. I have tried everything I can think of to try to connect. I tried going directly to my router, changing to another DNS server, and even tethering off my phone to use a completely different network connection and I still get the same error. I work as a network technician and I have tried all the basics, so if anyone has any advice as to what I can try I would greatly appreciate any help.
