Well, just as the title suggests, I will be naming off a few simple ideas I think would be great if added to Rust.
-A min-max option in the crafting menu (or the option to hold down the + - buttons) Crafting gunpowder can be a bit hard on the fingers!
-Being able to remove your own building parts after being placed. i.e. hold E and select remove after you've placed it, only the person who placed it has this option.
-A visual effect for walls and doors and the likes when they are damaged, showing how close they are to being broken.
-Red bears/wolves being changed into mutated bears/wolves with a new model and design(a few for the same mob, being able to see one wolf with 5 legs and another with two heads at the same time would be very neat). These also dropping the same items and more that the zombies used to drop. (bolt action rifles, explosives, kevlar, metal building parts including pillars.)
-Animals dropping raw meat, not raw chicken breast. That just annoys me for some reason, the ocd is real in this one.
-Being able to run and shoot/melee. It's very hard to kill a dear with a rock.
That's all really. I love this game, hope to see some crazy fun stuff added(boost them graphics pls :p)!
the +- thing is like the idea you suggested you hold shift+/- for 10 and ctrl+/- for max
[editline]27th April 2014[/editline]
for the run and melee you can attack then run and you will attack
you can walk up to deer and smash.
Good ideas, but i'd hold back on the damage visuals on doors/walls. The game already freezes up trying to load buildings, especialy since every other step a giant tower pops up. It takes roughly 1-5 seconds (for me at least) for a giant tower to pop up, having to load every foundation, pillar, wall, door, ect. So having to read it's durability, select a custom skin, and load it, COULD cause a higher pause time. But i doubt multiple walls, doors, foudnations, ect will have varying durabilities. So mixed feelings.[QUOTE=IamTurtle;44659574]Well, just as the title suggests, I will be naming off a few simple ideas I think would be great if added to Rust.

They should add lakes and fishing:D damn it would be awsome:D
Regarding a few things: I did not know you could do that with shift/control! It would be nice if they had the buttons though, because everyone I've asked didn't know either haha. The melee thing, you can run, stop, then hit. You can't run and hit, you can't really kill anything with a melee weapon. I'd like to see the visual effects of a breaking wall, my computer has absolutely no problem loading buildings, the effect could be toggle-able. That lake idea, good lord yes! :)

First point is pretty much already in the game, you can use shift and ctrl to either move the amount by 10 or go to the maximum amount you can craft.
Removing building parts for a limited time after placement has been planned and can be found on the Trello, it goes by the name of home ownership. It is extremely delayed but at the time it was added I doubt the developers were expecting to rewrite there entire game.
There is already a visual effect for damaged and decaying structures. They go a much darker colour the closer they are to be destroyed. This colour change is best seen when breaking down a wooden door. Also if you are really unsure if a wooden wall is damaged you can try and repair it by placing wood in your hot bar and using it on the structural component. If it is damaged it will tell you how much has been repaired.
The games models are being developed continuously. Pretty much everything is a stock unity asset acting as a placeholder and the design team are making models for new thing all the time. They have just remodeled all the wildlife so I expect red animals will see there day soon.
It will be a sad day for me when all animal don't drop raw chicken, but I am sure it is coming.
It is supposed to be hard to kill things with a rock, its the thing you spawn with. Dear run away, it's there thing. Start with a pig, get 5 cloth, make a bow and dears will become very easy to hunt. Alternatively you can crouch and the dear will not detect you, allowing you to smash it with a rock, this will take a good few hits but will work eventually. Make a bow, it is much easier and a vital piece of survival equipment early on.

You can swing your melee weapon and start to run midswing. Pause just long enough to start another swing and start running again. It's easier to crouch and walk right up to animals, but there you have it, running melee.
