I was just thinking of how intense the game would be if nobody was able to research guns. In order to obtain guns, you will have to either loot it from a town or get it from someone you killed/looted. This way, nobody stays home all day crafting guns that they researched. Sometimes it's annoying seeing a huge server with nobody outside. I feel as if making this change will make people PVP more often. Also, this will feel like an accomplishment, knowing that you got all your guns from getting kills/looting and not by researching one gun in the beginning and then crafting a lot of them. What do you guys think of this suggestion? Would it be a good idea to remove researching in guns(excluding c4 and explosives)?
Edit: This works well with a No Durability server of course.
These servers exist but they have to use mods.
When guns are fairly common loot from rad towns and the blueprints for the guns drop in crates and from red animals I'm not sure who is using research kits on guns anyway. In a standard play through I very rarely craft guns, but end up with plenty in a short space of time.

Ye but the guns you're getting are probably from people that crafted them
Some may be from people who have crafted them. I just feel that its better to spend metal on doors with the current gun drop rate in rad towns and from reading other posts here many other people feel the same.
This is wild opinion however and largely based around the fact I never set up far from a rad town. For people hiding way off towards the edges of the map things may be entirely different as they have no rad towns available.
Why would this make people PvP more often. They will just sit on their roofs more so they don't lose their rarer weapons.

Well that is called strategy, it may have some punishments such as noobs looting "your stuff" just because you're staying in your house. Unless you have friends to loot for you, then that is different. I think disabling researching in guns will add more risk to the game, which means more PVP if you're in need of guns. Also this can add more fun for bandits like me. It is annoying seeing a 80 man server with hardly anybody going outside KOSing. It is just makes the game fun when it is all based off risk. Also this increases the time of gameplay in a server. For example, sometimes it is too easy to succeed in a server where you already have tons of guns in the first day. Happens to me all the time, and I sometimes get bored because of that.
