Some people hack themselves through walls.
I was smelting some ore today, and than my game has crashed(new window appeared saying something about visual c++ or something like it. The thing is that when i restarted the game everything from Furnace disappeared - it was 100% empty! It't couldn't be someone else, it were in my hut, door closed, and i was out for a minute or something like it. Please fix, there was a lot of resourses
Three main possibilities here. First, you may have had your furnace contents stolen by someone being able to access it from outside your building due to you putting it too close to the wall (so it can be 'opened' from outside). Second, the same sort of thing could have happened, but by a cheater, who is then able to access containers through walls even if your furnace was up to half a foundation or so away from the wall. Finally, the server may have restarted due to the current 100% CPU utilisation bug in the most recent update, in which case it appears to come back up within <30 secs, but some things are reset (time of day, loose items on ground, packs on ground, airdrops, animals/zombies, resource piles, etc) - there is also a brief rollback at this point, in which you can either lose items or dupe them, if you were taking items out or putting them into a container (like your furnace) in the last couple of minutes before the crash. I recently had this happen to me (crash rollback) and the guns and piles of ammo I was taking from my box seconds before, were duped (in the box again and now in my inv too), but we lost the doors we placed ~2 minutes before and the resources used to craft them (instacraft server). Edit: to be clear, usually the CLIENT (you) doesn't crash when this happens, you just get disconnected from the server. Rust is an alpha though and crashes occasionally, so it may have done so in your case when the server crashed.
you died :(
