Hi All, I'm sure there are other ones out there, but this thread is discussion about logical additions that could be added to the already epic creation of RUST, Please don't put you BS on here its to put what fans want out there, The current additions I would like to see are the below, Disease & Sickness In Rust you can already die of Radiation, Freezing, Hunger, Thirst or Heat Stroke... What if you could be effected by the environment around you allowing the ability of sickness, Not only would this add a major aspect to players survival and travel but evolving a whole new environment foraging aspect, Looking for herbs and remedies to heal yourself or an ally (For example getting bit by a mosquito carrying malaria during your travels through a swap biome).. A player would be limited to the amount of movement and have to rest, eat and drink more frequently until he found the medicines required. Illness' could include; Malaria - Spending to much time in swap/mosquito infested areas Food Poisoning - From eating raw meet Sea sickness - from drinking dirty or ocean water Common Flu Plague Digging & Landscaping With the latest update, The building in RUST has improved dramatically over the previous few updates but there could be even more room for improvement with Landscaping and Levelling features added for that little extra build edge, Being able to physically alter polygons on the map to level a "Flat Space" this could be a wall that your building, a pathway, even a structure How could this be introduced, Well, Its simple players can use their current wood and steal resources to build a shovel and wheel barrow, For extra added fun, The could make it that once an area is levelled that matter or "Movable Polygons" must be placed elsewhere, whether its a huge pile of dirt, of a defensive ditch for first wave base protection Landscaping should be hard work so you can on level small areas at a time, just like in the real world Resource-Only Horse and Cart A players inventory get full quite quickly, Transportation of goods via a create on the back of a cart, would bring an ideal feature for both players to raid without greifing a base, Making it a fun feature for the game,
Disease spreading would be a very interesting addition to the emergent gameplay. Communities would have to turn against the afflicted to survive. [editline]26th May 2015[/editline] or quarantine
I love this.
yeah it would work perfectly for my server http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1467526 you could send in a disease ridden person to destroy the ruler
Disease & Sickness
This was mentioned when the syringes were introduced. It would be interesting. Maybe you offer to help someone, and then poison them once you've earned their trust, or leave them scattered around your base hoping raiders will use them at the worst time. I'm not sure I'd like to see something based on contact though, unless you ate their meat.
Digging & Landscaping
I don't think we'll ever see any sort of high level terraforming in rust. I can't wait to see how farming is going to be approached because I think this is an important aspect for that. Maybe altering the landscape by building? Or a similar system to the earlier hammer upgrade, only with a shovel?
Resource-Only Horse and Cart
Hopefully, a nomadic living option also. A lot lone wolves are opting for multiple small bases at the moment. This would be a nice addition to that. I just don't know how you'd add a reasonable defense. Horses should go down easily, and the cart shouldn't be any stronger than wood or maybe light sheet metal.
disease i love, though i'm not convinced it needs to be all that complicated. you could simply have an infection level that increases when you eat raw meats, are in contact with contaminants or dead bodies. if you fill it, you become contagious and also have a constant damage over time to your hunger/thirst. a contagious player/animals meat is tainted and increases your infection meter regardless of being cooked. digging/terraforming would be cool, but they are unlikely to implement it any time soon, if at all. horse and cart, sure. but i wouldn't make it a separate inventory, just have the cart like a big chest, and the horse ridable. or have just a pull along buggy;)
Agree with Mrknifey sugguestions for an uncomplicated disease system. I don't think this needs a multitude of different ailments and cures / remedies. Simply, like the radiation bar, your sickness level should increase when you do stupid stuff and decrease when you eat, drink, or over time, affecting your general health accordingly.
Very interesting your idea.

Too much exposure, hanging out nearby and eating tainted food, not wearing protective gear, could give you the Rust plague.
Disease & Sickness I definitely think spread would be a bit crazy, Cause some a**hole would run around like a STD infecting people but yeah it would definitely be a good idea as a transferable thing like using someones items or eating their meat... Digging and Landscaping That's correct terraforming would cause emence server load, I think that basic levelling of ground would be a great feature for "Flat Surface" building which is rare to find on rust Resource-Only Horse and Cart I think this would be the best addition, Some of the most enjoyable moments in the game are travelling an raiding bases on the go, With players utilising minimal build space on the server while still being an effective player. (Carting over a create full of explosives or weaponry for you clan of nomads to attack a base would be epic)
Agree with Mrknifey sugguestions for an uncomplicated disease system.
Yes--Rust works best with its broad categories. "Wood" cover logs, boards, branches, and tinder. "Metal" cover lead, iron, copper, and whatever you could melt out in clay ovens. "Stones" covers small rocks meant for arroheads up through quarried rocks for building. "Cloth" includes plant- and animal-based clothing material. I've seen other games get lost in the weeds for details while Rust achieves the same effects with a limited set.
