Like I know you're the developers and what you say goes, but this is getting ridiculous, how the hell am I suppose to manage 2 servers while also playing in official servers when you's don't even notify barely anyone? I keep up to date on all the rust dev sites including rustafied and others. and I still had no idea that the update was being pushed this morning.
Please find a better way of keeping the people who actually love this game up to date on whats going on..
I bet both of our servers would have lost a shitload of players because of this, as I always stay up until 5-8 in the morning waiting for the updates. its now 12 hours later.
Thanks, for letting us down. lol
I kind of agree. The updates should have a deadline and hotfixes should have devblog mini posts or just forum posts. If the updates were like every week on thursday between 5 and 6pm EST - at least people would know what to expect. Hotfixes would/could be announced on the spot, as that is not unexpected.
I'm not sure where you guys have been but weekly updates on Thursday have been standard for some time now. This was discussed months ago on the devblog at playrust.com
I agree 100%, with hotfixes its not such a big issue, as usually with a hotfix you don't HAVE to update straight away. but with proper updates, they should find a way to notify everyone. like even just posting something on this site in the rust forums would help a lot in my opinion.
how many people do you see each and every week posting in these forums "what times the update" or whens the update?"

We clearly know this man, but last week before the update that introduced the 6 new ammo types, rustafied literally said, that facepunch will now be updating fortnightly... that is the reason I have posted this man, as since then i have not heard a single thing to back it up or deny it.
the devblog at playrust.com has info on how you can sign up to get notified on updates. Does no one read!
I don't mean to rude.. but I read the devblog every week and I have never seen anything of the sorts.
do you mind sending a link or something?

alright so I found what you were talking about mate, and honestly a notification when a devblog comes out will not help me at all. at the times the devblogs come out, I will be sound asleep as im from Australia.
we need someone from facepunch to confirm the update for us the day before or something, that way server owners and just general rust players can have an idea of whats going on before it happens.
it probably just sounds like i'm whinging, but that is not my intentions at all.
News flash: The devblogs get pushed out at the same time as the update, and unless there's something hideously broken, updates are every Thursday. If there is no update, as was the case a few weeks back, the devblog clearly says so.
Also, Facepunch's own RSS bot subforum for news feeds specifically has a Playrust bot that posts blog posts almost immediately after they happen, and it's been there longer than the formal weekly devblogs have been a thing, if you want your forum indication.
The game is in alpha. I think your expectations are just a little too high if you are fretting about your server popularity and not being notified when you couldn't even find the answer yourself without several nudges.

Yes, and I wish it was bannable because the information is on the official Rust website and updates are and have been on a predictable schedule (barring hotfixes) and people haven't even noticed that it's consistently been that way for most of this year. Well, I'd forgive the first one, but not the next six while all of them are still on the first page of threads.

Where's this? From the number of things you claim to have never read while reading the thing that contains it, I'd like a link to a Rustafied post saying that the update schedule was changing.
Were you perhaps confused by the lack of a patch several weeks back?
OP, every thursday there is an update. There are exceptions when devs skip a week but it will be posted likely the week before. So expect an update every single thursday. :)

Yes I can see where i've gotten confused now.
I always knew they were every Thursday. Whish is usually about 6-8am Friday morning in Australia.
I clearly read something wrong, as I was under the impression that from that update that got pushed back by a week onwards, that facepunch were going to stick to a fortnightly updating schedule.
So its my fault for thinking the schedule had changed when this clearly is not the case, and thanks for clearing that up.
Ill be sure to check where I got the information from again before posting another rant like this one.
