I want to make a server that alternates between pvp and pve every 2 hours.
Are there any server providers that allow you to schedule commands to your server in such a way?
For example:
I want to tell my server to-
set env.timescale 0 (time never passes)
set server.pvp true at 12:00 and repeat every 4 hours.
set env.time 7 at 12:00 and repeat every 4 hours.
set server.pvp false at 2:00 and repeat every 4 hours.
set env.time 17 at 2:00 and repeat every 4 hours.
The result:
At 12:00 the sun would be on the east and pvp would be enabled now and again every 4 hours. At 2:00 the sun is on the west and pvp becomes disabled now and again every 4 hours.
Also would there be a way to warn players in game as to when these modes were about to switch? I was going to use the sun to warn players of each gamemode change but there would need to be more warning. I would like chat messages to come up telling players that pvp mode would be enabled in 15 minutes, 10 minutes, ect.
I just feel that rust needs a balance between pvp and pve. PvP has it so most players kill each other on sight and it can become difficult to get on your feet if you get unlucky with player encounters. PvE on the other hand is just too easy and a bit boring. By alternating the 2 playstyles I can get the best of both worlds.
Sounds really really cool and actually reminds me of that movie "The Purge," in a way. Like Murder/killing people is legal for a certain amount of time.
I don't have an answer to your question though. My apologies.
