idea: in addition to thirst how about sleep/sanity?

it would be very interesting if sleep/rest/sanity was a status effect like thirst or hunger, requiring the character to sleep. The lower the rest/sanity meter got the slower the player would move, he/she would start hallucinating when the bar is very low, not being well feed would also apply a penalty to sanity/rest (i.e it would decay more rapidly), additionally; having a full stomach would make the character very tired.
Not to burst your bubble or anything but in my opinion adding all these factors into the game wouldn't be very fun in the long run I mean itd be cool and all but I just don't want to have to manage so many things at once.
Only thing I think should be added is the "full stomach de-buff" As players like myself are using food in the middle of fights to heal up
(basically run around eat shit ton of food to heal then get back in the fight)
Adding that debuff would actually make medkits useful and make you want to have them.
As for the others like hallucination I just don't feel like that has a place in this game I mean its a good idea and all but it might be to much to handle for most players. (I agree that food is a very easy thing to combat in this game and if they do add things like hallucination they need to make the needs easy to balance not some overboard management thing.)
My opinion mostly comes from a skyrim mod that got very realistic towards your needs but they were sooooooooo hard to manage. You actually had to make sure you got the right amount of cals, proteins, hydration, Sleep, and make sure you balanced the meals properly and it was pretty easy to screw up. Making it a really overboard project to play alongside casually.
it doesn't have to be "ridiculously hard to manage "or even tedious,
all it would mean is if you don't pay attention and forget to sleep for like 3 days you start to hallucinate and move a little slower.

Don't you "sleep" everytime you log out? It would be a moot point then.
I could see this being implemented for some people who play WAY too much. I've seen guys get on a server and complete what took me a week to do in one day because they are unemployed or students. If your character has been going for 8 hours non-stop, I would think they should become more easily fatigued or start hallucinating like the OP said.

This would essentially be imposing a playtime limit on servers. As the post above mentions, you "sleep" when you log out and in real time until you log back in. Otherwise, who would want to watch their character sleep for an in game night, since they can't do something where time passes quicker since its multiplayer.
