one thing to mention when speaking of orientation.. sun does rise on east as i real life, but moon does also, which is opposite from real life..
so keep that in mind if you ever get lost and try to be clever and google where moon raise.. even though i have 150+ hours few days back i get lost and i come from near big radtown all the way to the south east, and i was going to hangar area where was my place.. i run for at least 20 minutes, with nothing around me, just some big mountains, and some trees here and there.. was sure that i was running in right direction as i was looking at the moon.. but ofc, that lead me completely in wrong way.. i was so pissed (well not really, i explore huge part of map which i would never do otherwise) when i saw that moon also rise on east..

What makes you think the moon rises in the west IRL?
well.. i'm somewhat embarrassed now :)
i went searching again and learned that in fact does rise on east..
but when i searched first time (even before i get lost, i wanted to know, because i haven't really knew and was in fact surprised to not knowing that basic fact)
i found few sources where it said that moon rises opposite of sun, so i took that for granted..
that's what you get when you try learn something "on google" :)
luckily you now better, and now so do i :)
i really don't know how i misread that.. well.. i can have the excuse of language barrier so when searching some phrases i often get it wrong, so yeah.. that's my excuse :)
Pretty much just a map tour from set point to set point. Not much actual navigation.

Pretty much. But this is how you learn the locations of Rust and where the hell you are! :P
If you memorize those points (They're the most common areas to spawn near) you'll eventually know exactly where you are all the time.
