Hello I have recently bought a laptop with the following specs: CPU: Intel i7-4720HQ 2.6 Quad Core GPU: Nvidia GTX 960M with 2GB vram RAM: 16GB The game runs on my laptop, but with the absolute lowest graphics i only get approximately 15 frames per second. I have a worse PC with only 3gb ram, an ATi Radeon 4850HD with 512mb vram and some crappy AMD cpu and it ran much better on that one. Please I need help, I would very much like to play the game. PS. was Rust legacy removed or why is it not in the selection anymore?
Was your server recently wiped? Buildings and whatnot are very unoptimized right now so performance will go to shit if there are a lot of big buildings in the area. Your laptop specs are pretty similar to what I use though and I usually get around 30-55 not counting the big building spikes. Legacy is in the beta branch, you have to opt in to it
Make sure Rust is using your 960M and not your Intel HD Graphics. You should be able to right-click on the desktop and select the 960M as the default graphics adapter. Unity games (which Rust is) love to glom onto Intel HDs for some reason. If you are getting unreasonably shit performance at N64-level graphics, that's probably it.
I actually get much better performance on the highest settings, try Fantastic but with a lower resolution.
First of all, any laptops run games shittier than PC's. If you had this specs on PC, it would've run it way better, but since it's a laptop, expect some difficulties. Just play with settings, disable some effects but keep texture quality and such.
