Rust is a great game which alternates survival and combat, but for the game that do not have the means to buy a good pc, I think he would want an xbox one or ps4 release. And I'm totally over it is possible to spend all the keyboard and mouse control on a joystick. Although the game is still in alpha release so it is clear that having a ps4 version will not for now but I hope it will be one because the game has a lot of success on pc ^^.
Thanks for reading.
Well I would buy it for Xbone :)
The game is not done on PC, so that would be in some really distant future after it becomes finished.

Nobody would force you to buy the console version, so your point is irrelevant.
To answer OP's question, it would be horrible to play Rust on console. Running around, farming, shooting... would be okay in general. But all the inventory management, crafting... Would be a pain in the ass. Even the building. You'll never have as much precision with a controller than with a mouse and keyboard.
VOIP should be disabled on consoles, imagine a battlefield during a raid with controllers... yessir, thats a new level of "arrghh".
It's worth noting that garry has said that if he could, he would have console and PC players on the same servers, rather than the console side being isolated from the PC side.
And console versions would not get any aim assists for controller. garry's opinion is that if you want to play an fps, get a keyboard and mouse. Otherwise, deal with getting trashed constantly by mouse-aim users.

I think he means that the PC version will be held back (larger maps, more complicated terrain, etc) because the consoles won't be able to cope.
Screw the Console, i demand VR even if takes ages :D

Agreed. Fuck porting to consoles off, porting over to VR would be way better and would make more sense.
Rust would be horrible to play with a controller, imagine how hard and annoying inventory management would be, especially while running or fighting, and in rust inventory management is a massive part of the game, you're in your inventory every few minutes, sometimes every few seconds.
Fuck it lets make rust for the Nintendo NX! XD jk
I remember porting to consoles is on the old roadmap somewhere. Tbh, as long as it doesn't affect us PC players then I'm all for it - I have a bunch of console friends who I'd love to play cross platform with
Lets finish the game first!
For God sake people, Rust is only a PC game. The sheer graphics of rust, a console would not be able to handle. If you put rust on a console, you may as well use the console as a heater or fire starter or something. PC MASTER RACR
