• Is autoclick cheating?

I would like to know from facepunch if autoclick software is allowed or not. Is it considered hacking? Is it banneable? I would like to use it for tedious work as logging, since it doesnt harm anybody, but only if it is allowed.
This is a good question I can not fully answer. Some keyboards have hotkey options. They are not bannable, also there is an option in the control panel to trigger mouse on or off by pressing which is 100% legit. But you have to switch back to desktop after farming. Then there are third-party keyboard programs such as AutoHotkey which I am not too sure about if they are bannable or not. I think it would be useful if you tell us the name of the program you intended to use. There are people from EAC in those forums so you might get an answer which you can certainly rely on.
The software i use in similar situations is "GS Auto Clicker 3.1.2".
Been using my razer mouse to autoclick, toggle click and autorun for most of my 6k hours and never had an issue.
wow 6k hours.. he must be right!
I've been using Windows built-in autoclick (don't remember where I found it, I just know the keys to trigger it) for a while. There is no way you could get banned, as it doesn't mess with your game files. Some people might consider it cheating, but IMO it doesn't give you any advantage at all. It only allows you to rest your fingers for a couple seconds.
EAC doesn't support a number of software packages that are used to alter keybinds; that might prevent certain methods of autoclick, but doesn't mean a ban for their use afaik. and as above, there are other ways built into windows anyway, so anyone COULD use them. that said, it's a bit dodgy/lazy to set up an autoclick to farm/raid. it's about 1 step short of botting for resources while you are offline, and i personally wouldn't do it.
It's a bit dodgy if used with a melee attack. IMO
If the program injects itself into the Rust executable then yes, you most likely will be banned. If it's just an overlay, then there is no possible way of detecting it therefore you will not be banned.
Don't play the game when you don't want to play it like its meant to be. Too tired of clicking or even running (srsly Deicide?!) for farming wood/stone? Play something else. Autoclicking is botting for me since it takes a basic gameplay feature and automates it for you.
set your primary fire button 2 as a key (i set "o"). when im to lazy for holding mouse button i put toothpick between O and P keys wich makes O pressed all the time. But i used it only twice in all my rust history.

Nothing. And you can't run while hitting, so you have to enable and disable it every time. Plus, the process of farming a whole node, tree or rock, takes less than a minute. It's not as if it made you run and find resources automatically. It doesn't give you an advantage. It just makes the most boring part of the game (hours and hours of grinding) more... bearable.
And you can't run while hitting
U can.
Well, the Rust TOS are here. It includes: What you can’t do Please don’t do any of these things unless we tell you in writing that you can: •Distribute, hack or modify Rust (any of it, client, server, art, code). •Use third party programs to gain an advantage in the game. (cheats) •Do anything we or you might consider naughty or illegal "autoclick software" is clearly a "third party program", so the question is, are you using it to gain an unfair advantage? If you plan to use it to reduce the mouse-clicking when resource gathering, I don't see you have gained an advantage (you can't for example, gather faster this way). Contrast that with using software to brute force a code lock. Clearly, there is an advantage gained here. It's not use of software that is a problem, its using to gain an advantage. Even this is not so clear cut. My gaming group uses another piece of third party software, called "TeamSpeak". We use to easily communicate over any in game distance, and in such a way that other people can't hear us. It gives us a huge advantage, but never heard anybody calling this cheating, let alone get banned for it.

"My gaming group uses another piece of third party software, called "TeamSpeak" Yes, thats my point, TS and Mumble are third party software, is it banneable? Autoclick also? I would like to use autoclick just to prevent the boring "click" "click" "click", it is not faster than the usual way of gathering resources, but it prevents the pain of it, a game should not be painful.

Not like I have my mouse setup to run around the map and randomly farm trees for God's sake, I'm still fully controlling my character and it gives me zero pvp or gather speed or run speed advantage, it's just a quality of life change. If you feel it's a big deal, well I'm sorry for you, you might want to check with a shrink on that one, you might be oversensitive to stuff you shouldn't be.
I see no issue in using an autoclick. It doesn't give anyone any advantage. You don't harvest faster. You don't pick walls faster. You can't harvest afk as you still have to move from tree / node to tree / node. You still have to controll you character just like if you weren't using it. The only "advantage" it has is help save a bit of stress on your ligaments - particularly for those of us who already suffer from repetitive stress injuries.
The simple answer is in a lot of games auto click is associated with other softwares like aimbots, both have resulted in people being banned e.g. if it auto fires a weapon as soon as a players is visible then it could be considered cheating overall your hardly playing the game if you have auto clicking
I think in certain games autoclick would totally be cheating, but Rust is not one of those games in my opinion. If anything autoclick during harvest leaves you more vulnerable to attack than anything. I sometimes will drop my phone onto the mouse button while chopping wood to free up a hand so I can smoke some weed or stuff my face. I always feel like I'm about to get murdered. But I don't feel like I'm cheating.

It's so cute.
Any answer from devs?

There is a whole world of difference here mate, don't mix things up.
Of course I cant say for the devs, but I see no problem in using autoclick, as long as it doesnt make the clicking go any faster or similar, autoclick is like... well using teamspeak for talking.
I killed someone with a wheel is that cheating?!!!!!!
Depends, people used to get banned in COD for using a wheel to make single shot weapons shoot like MG's, in that case yeah I would consider it cheating.

Do you do any manual labor in your normal routine? (not chopping virtual trees) If this isn't a stereotype i don't know what is....
That dumb rating is all you'll get from me on this one.
no
