• DDOS'ing is getting out of hand.

I am not sure if I am allowed to post this here but I feel this issue is hurting the game. North America 1 Stress Test has been getting DDOS'd for hours yesterday and today. I have heard other servers were taken completely offline last night from DDOS'ing also. I just wanted to get some attention to this issue as it is ruining the experience for quite a few people.
DDOSing is a face of the internet. No matter what countermeasures are in place there will always be a way to DDOS servers with the right amount of computers and the right kind of attack. DDOSing will stop once they find a way to block the attack, the people get arrested or the person DDOSing decides to stop the attack. Period, there isn't any other way around it. The devs are doing the best they can and the server hosts i know of im sure are doing the same. Its a never ending war between the Devs, GSP's and the DDOSers.
Well right now Internet is like the "wild west" in America around 1860-1890 or something like that. Before law and order was established the criminals AKA desperadoes could easily terrorist civilian populations. What has to happen on the internet is what happened in America when the "wild west" was "tamed". The government have to start to make laws and enforce them, and enforce them hard. DDOS attack have to be criminal and give jail time at least. Hanging like back then might be a bit too brutal in our society now. But I would not be against it for anyone that mess with any game I play with.
If it's unplayable, then play somewhere else, it really isn't that hard...
Good god you do know that a ddos attack is criminal right?
I assumed so but was not sure. And I'm not sure if it's illegal in every country in the world. If it's only illegal in USA for an example it won't help mush as USA does not have any jurisdiction outside of there borders. It has to be written in international law.
It is illegal in every country.

Valve Corporation is based in Bellevue, Washington, and Facepunch Studios is based in Walsall, England. DDOSing is punishable by imprisonment in both those countries. Now, I'm not sure if it actually depends on the physical location of the attacker and the target, but I'm pretty sure there isn't a single country that would allow something like that. Go ahead and find one that will, though. I encourage it.

It is nothing like the wild west currently, back around the 90s it was much more chaotic and much more and interesting content could be found. I miss it.

Let them and their lawyers sort this out. Legal action for small-time denial of service like this is usually a total overreaction. There are far better ways to mitigate the problem. And the first is not creating and bumping threads like these and giving the cunts the attention and recognition that they are looking for. You only encourage them to troll you harder and DDOS more.

Even hackers had a codes and honor back then. Not something you can say about all the script kids of today.
