Wow Garry! Really impressed with how the experimental branch is being handled. I like playing the game on a 2x2 spammed with objects.
Hence the qualifier "experimental". What are you expecting, a full size map and playable game? It's pretty obvious that the experimental branch is not gameplay ready at the moment. You'll know when it is. Calm down and wait it out like the rest of us.
"We’re not going to take the old branch away from you until everyone is in universal agreement that the new branch is the future." If this is the future...?

If this is the future...?
It WILL be the future. It's obviously not ready yet, as I said. I don't think it was ever implied that the Experimental Branch was ready for play and I'm not sure what made you think it was. Hell, there aren't even any servers up yet for it.

He literally stated in his FUCKING rust log that he really REALLY thinks you should stay on the current branch for now, Even I who complain about hackers a lot cant help but wonder why you even made this thread
Because the game is not play-able in experimental branch? Theres nothing there, its tasteless
Because the game is not play-able in experimental branch? Theres nothing there, its tasteless
You clearly do not understand what that branch is for. If you don't like it then don't play it, it's not really there to play on.
jesus, the nerve of some people these dayz....... haha, get it? dayz? anyone? ...
Wow Garry! Really impressed with how the experimental branch is being handled. I like playing the game on a 2x2 spammed with objects.
If you don't actually know what that branch is for, then you should really stop using it.
Well the branch is a complete mess, lets hope that's not the "Future" of rust :D?
"Experimental Branch The experimental branch is on Steam, and you can join it if you want to watch the development. But if you’re more interested in playing Rust I would stick to the current live branch. You might lose your settings and stuff if you switch to the experimental branch and then switch back. But here’s how it’s done." ........
Couple questions some1 might be able to help me with, since the "here's how it's done" video won't load for me. The Experimental Branch - Stay Away is that the right one? Then how do you know what servers (if any) are on the new experimental version?
Okay, let me be the voice of reason and calm. Let me use Blockade Runner as a comparison. Blockade Runner is currently in the process of a complete engine rewrite. As a Founder-era supporter, I have access to the latest development builds, so I know what's available. (We're asked not to talk about the dev builds, so I'm going to be general and vague about the current state of BR.) Here's how it works: There is the stable W71c build, which is the state of the game as it was at 71 weeks of development. It was about this point, possibly just a bit earlier, that the team decided a complete engine rewrite was needed and ready to begin, and so development on this version froze. The current Founder build is W160, 160 weeks into development. Huge leaps of progress have been made, but making a game from scratch with only six siblings (the BR dev team) takes a lot of time. One of the biggest things that had been worked on recently is a new 2D API, so many of the changes involved were on the 2D API. For a number of builds, they were doing earlier work on the main menu UI, and the result was, Founder builds wouldn't do anything but load the main menu and options menu, and most of the buttons made the game crash. That's what was being tested. As you can see, W71 is a stable game build that works decently enough, while the new branch, which broke off and ran away in a new direction after a certain point, is still rebuilding the universe. I'd go into more detail about BR's current builds to show how they've been piecing it together, like assembling a Jenga from the bottom up, but I can't talk about it. :v: Rust, obviously, is not the same kind of game as BR, nor is the branch separation necessarily going to be handled the same, but it should give you an idea of what to expect on the experimental branch: Experiments and leaps of progress, sometimes a little rough or raw. So, experimental branch is a sandbox until it makes sense to populate it with a full map. Do you think it would be better to play with random terrain generation over an area the size of a football field, or the size of Colorado?
