Hi all,
First i want to say that Rust is an amazing game, and for a game that is still in alpha is pretty well optimized.
But the reason i am creating this thread is to give some ideas i had for the dev's:
.If there are storms, you could add some events, such as hurricanes that may damage buildings, lightning strikes that may strike players (random)
.I also thought that would be cool to have some kind off climbing gear, for example, an attachment to the bow/crossbow that gives you the opportunity to fire an arrow with a rope, and with that you could climb one house, or even climbing gear
.You could create some fire arrows
Maybe those are some stupid ideas, but i wanted to share with all off you!
Thanks
It's probably been mentioned many times, but personally I'd just love to see more quality progression of the primitive weapons.
Wood arrow - > stone arrow - > bone arrow -> iron arrow -> HQM arrow
Now just swap the word "arrow" for other primitives, (spear, sword, club, etc.)
Doesn't need to be a linear progression either, make them do better/worse at certain armor types and certain ranges for the missile items.
I like the grappling hooks idea, though it would be like ladders, only more powerful, and we know how much people complained about ladders. At least ladders had the "tower skirt" defense method to defend against them, grappling hooks would conceivably bypass that.
That's a good idea to.. But the spear is pretty useless, in my opinion

They need to bring back both and make spikes we can attach to walls to stop both ladders and hooks.

I think spears are amazing actually, I always carry two, even survived 2 guys jumping me with pistols cause I hid behind a rock then popped out and speared one in the face. It's hard to gauge the damage difference from doing that with other missile items, but they are also nice and cheap at the beginning.
Rust should have more elaborate arches like a bow English, I like primitive weapons and they should be more valued.I hope it accepts this idea.

I suggested this on a steam discussion back in legacy days, but I wouldn't mind a bayonet style attachment on the end of a gun. Simply drag a bone knife (Or maybe a better knife found from airdrops or something) and strap it to the end of your weapon. Pressing a button, like 'F' for example would enable melee mode, and every time you go to shoot you stab or swipe with your rifle instead. This could help you win CQBs and attacks while you are reloading.
Pros:
+Allows people with long range/slow firing weapons to stand a chance in CQC
+If someone comes up to you while you are reloading you can quickly stab them to death
+Only requires a basic melee weapon such as a bone knife
Cons:
-If you only needed a bone knife, it would be a fairly common attachment, meaning everyone would have it
-If everyone had it, no one would have an advantage in CQC
-Takes up an under-barrel slot that could be used for say a flashlight or laser pointer
Tell me what you guys think!
Your idea off the attachment is great! And from what I can see everyone wants more "primitive" game, but in my opinion I think that they wont add much more on that simply because guns vs bows is always unfair, that's the whole reason why nowadays we use snipers and automatic guns, instead bows and stuff.. Still, it would be nice to have more choices on primitive wepons.. Btw the long bow idea is good!
What I think they could add is explosive arrows.. That would be a really nice upgrade for the primitive system!!
But I am enjoying the way the devs are developing the game, they are constantly updating, they do care about us and make the game a lot enjoyable to play!

What's your opinion on having some kind off companion dogs? That could help on hunting and tracking animals and as well tracking people, it would be a nice combo with the footprint system! And would make the game a lot more dangerous!!
ranged weapon: m1 to shoot, m2 to melee with it.
melee weapon/tool: m1 to melee with it, m2 to throw it.

What about ADS?
Here is an idea. Meds needs medical herbs instead of low grade fuel. It made no sense to me to jab you're self full with petrol and expect that it heals you. Also if you look around Rust a lot of bushes have particular flowers on them. Maybe you can do something with that medical wise.

Only problem is that currently melee weapons are useless no one uses them due to the abundance of guns (why bring a knife to a gun fight?) and when you are reloading is usually when the enemy guns you down (in my experience). I personally love the mace but the only time it gets used is on newmans.

You mean taking a rusty shard of metal you just pulled out of your makeshift oven, wrapping some dingy cloth that god knows how you just acquired from a wild boar and dipping the tip in some bio fuel before jabbing it into your arm isn't how you cure illness???

Isn't this how the hospitals do it?

as a nurse, i can tell you this is exactly how we fix people;)
@Kurogo; ADS?

Med kits should require blood packs too. They are already in the game.

Aiming down sights. Currently that's what m2 does.
ahh, gotcha. personally i'd toggle-bind it to q or something similar. that's actually how i have it bound at the moment, so i forget it defaults to m2:)
Hi all
I wanted to show my idea wich is a back pack.
Crafting for the small Backpack(2 Rope 20 Cloth and 5 Sewing kit)
Crafting for the large Backpack(2 Rope 40 Cloth 50 Leather 15 Sewing kit)
The space for the small Backpack is 12 slots
The space for the large Backpack is 18 slots
May be should add induction furnace? Wb3
