Hello, i'm pretty interested in the game as advertised as a survival game. By looking at videos and comments it's seems that it's all about getting a weapon and raiding other players. I can understand that lot of people enjoy this form of gameplay. But will there be a "more realistic" mode available to players that are not into shooting other people with guns ? With maybe some features as : Inventory : very limited at the start, can be expanded if you craft bags or some sort of sleigh/trolley. Food : Raw and cooked food perishing if not properly stocked Need to band with multiple players to kill large preys (elephants, mamoth, bear). More animals types, ability to capture and park them (but then you have to feed and protect them). Hydratation management ? Vegetatbles, agriculture ? Crafting : More defensive/sustainable crafting : spears, animal traps, lures, fishing poles, hooks, etc.. more basic and natural shelters using tree branchs and grass/leaves real woodcuting and wood management ? (you cut down a tree, then take the branchs and cut the wood out of it ?) that would take a hell of a time or a lot of people to build a house/village and hence the reward when completed. Before you die, you suffer : Being injured is very bad and you can loose consciousness if you try to run while bleeding, depending on the gravity you can get fall damage even if you jump standing, health goes down until you rest and/or heal yourself. the more you are injured the slower you can move. Hearing and visibility get worst too. Immersion : No health or thirst bar. having onscreen effects instead that mimic the real effects of being injured or hungry (like the poisoned effect) Health : desaturate and raise luminosit and constrasts thirst : stomach noise, flashes / hallucinations. Player interactions : non-lethal combat training using wooden "fake" weapons etc.. Is Rust going into this direction (wich I would really love) ? Or it is going to be more a PvP game like Arma3 Wasteland mode ? (wich would be good too, but I would be personnaly less interested ) Thanks,
The game is very unfinished as an alpha, in case you didn't notice. The devs are working on the foundation of the game right now, not adding extra gameplay bits into a mostly-finished game. You're basically looking at a test prototype. The full game will have a lot more to it. You can read about the devs' vision for Rust here.
I clicked and i expected something a lot different Maybe try putting a REAL title and not just the game name ?
Im very aware that the game is only at the begining of it's devellopement, and that's exactly why i'm asking in wich direction the devs want and will push the game, considering the feedback they currently have and how people "play it" so far.
There are no pvp servers, but you can still kill sleepers and raid, and they are rare. It sounds like you need a no pvp, no sleepers, no c4/grenades/raiding server, which is even rarer still, but they exist.
Elix, your link is broken. OP, you should also check out this AMA that Garry did. Gives some good insight into what could happen in the future. As it stands, on most servers the game is mostly a team deathmatch with simple base building. This won't always be the case. It can be difficult to find a server with a decent population. It's even harder to find one that has a decent population that sticks around. There are wayyyy too many servers with too few players, so that's kind of a bummer. All in all, it's a good game. I've never put 200 hours into a game as quickly as I did with Rust but it's not without its issues, it is still very early in development.
Fffffff thanks Android for putting a space between http:// and garry.tv in the paste.
Thanks for the answers and links, I can't wait to see how the gameplay will be in 1 or 2 years ! In the meantime i'll try to grab it on sales =)

In the meantime i'll try to grab it on sales =)
It probably won't go on sale anytime soon. Quite frankly the game is probably more popular than the devs really wanted it to be at this stage. They've said before that sales are highly unlikely because it's just going to attract more and more people which isn't really the best for development.
