Patch issues resaulting in wipes 24 hours after patch?

I have a server from Streamline-Servers and it sees at 12pm AEST TCadmin has gone down for maintenance. I was told there will be wipes but they are doing a backup of servers and we can restore. I've been able to log onto other streamline-servers from rust so it seems odd that only my server seems to have been taken down. Anybody else have the same issue? This isn't a rant about Streamline-Servers, I've only ever had a good experience with them and they reply to tickets almost instantly.
I was told by the manager from FPSPlayers.com that I had to wipe my server completely aswell. No restore though. Which makes sense considering the new patch made weird things happen on the hardware. Drawing 100% CPU was one of them. So it's fair enough. Just compensate people if they complain and get on with it :) It's an alpha.
To clarify, the emails from Streamline did not say 'then you can restore', they said something along the lines of 'if the issue relating to using maps from prior to the Feb7 update is resolved, THEN we will let you restore those backups'. Since the 'update', my server has been using 3+ GB RAM and crashed about 5 times so far today (even after removing doorshare, market, remover tool and anti-decay, which were all potential culprits for the issue during my troubleshooting). If the memory leak issue is in fact a result of using prior map (world save) files with the latest version of Rust server, then they will NEVER let you restore those backups. That would just be causing lag and reboots for your server, as well as a high potential for poor performance for other servers on your same node.
Personally I really hope this gets resolved shortly, in a manner which fixes the issue thus allowing older saves to be used with the latest server files, but of course expecting backwards compatibility in an alpha game would be quite absurd.

Absolutely! My Server seems to be running fine as is now, but I'm not sure what they did. they did say they are still waiting for the rust dev team to fix it and there will most likely a wipe when it's done. I was just double checking to see if anyone else has the issue. The guys from streamline get onto issues quick smart so just have to wait it out.

But.. If the problem is fixed, there's no need for a wipe?

Yeah, I've been very happy with their service, and the level of knowledge of their staff. Not the cheapest server provider for Rust, but best choice in Australia I reckon. No point in saving $10/month if your server is laggy or slow to update mods - much better to go with the guys who're on the ball and get things done.
Still going to cry a little inside if I have to rebuild my 1,700 pillar, 250-ramp arena again though...
If you're going to cry over wipes, get out of the alpha right now because you will be a depressive wreck by the end if you can't cope.
Wipes are a fact of life in alpha, and the sooner you accept that, the happier you'll be. Don't get too attached to your stuff in alpha.
We got the notification from Nitrous Networks as well but luckily we had a choice. Our server somehow managed low CPU usage after the patch so we didn't have to wipe. Doesn't matter a lot since we plan to wipe it in a couple of weeks anyway.

LOL, I said inside, mate.. And it's a figure of speech.
I'm already excited about a fresh start ;)

My Rust server CPU usage has always been <20%, and that hasn't changed after the Feb7 update. The issue people are running into is 3-4GB+ RAM usage (regardless of 0, 10, 30 players on) - which keeps rising until the GSP's systems reboot it for hogging the node's resources (or just deny resource allocation which makes the server process shit itself).
