• Low FPS on high end system

Here are the system specs before anything else: Core i7 @2.3 ghz 16gb ram Nvidia Geforce 675m (Optimus) 120gb SSD 500 GB secondary drive The game gets around 12 fps which is retarded. We have tried turning grass and shadows off and lowering the resolution but nothing seems to help. I realize the game is still in alpha and possibly just an optimization problem for laptop graphics but I was hoping to make this issue known to the devs so my little brother would be able to play soon.
I think the issue is the Optimus. Rust does not default to your dedicated GPU, you have to force it on.
Your system may be set to run the integrated Intel Graphics which are crap. Download the latest Nvidia drivers and make sure it's set to run on the Nvidia card.
In case you don't know how to enable the Nvidia GPU and force it on. Go to your Nvidia Control Panel. Then go to "Manage 3D Settings". Make sure you are on the "Global Settings" tab and look for the drop box under where it says "Preferred graphics processor". Change it from "auto-select" to "High-performance NVIDIA processor". That will force the Nvidia GPU on. (This is ONLY for those with an Nvidia Optimus laptop)
yup, that fixed it. Thanks alot guys!
