• Raided and Code Lock gone? Hacked??

Raided last night. No damage to the base. Accessed via a door with a code lock on but the lock has now gone??!! Is this a hack? Thanks, Gaz
probably destroyed the door and replaced it.
Or casually found our code and stole d code lock ;)
Did you leave the code lock unlocked, i.e. green light on? Someone can remove the lock and keep it for another time!
I'm saying it's one of two scenarios: 1. They destroyed and replaced the door. 2. You or another occupant of your base unintentionally unlocked the door. They not only raided you, but stole your lock as well. Personally, I'm betting on #2. I've accidentally unlocked doors before, and often have come across bases with unlocked doors. This isn't uncommon. It's far too easy to inadvertently unlock a door.
1. They destroyed and replaced the door.
We do this all the time for the sole purpose of messing with players. I'll also take the extra step of restoring their damaged walls / floors / etc, but I'll usually leave at least one damaged segment so they can figure out what they did. I love drinking the tears of "SOME1 USED HAX!!" when the player comes back on. They flat-out refuse to believe that this is possible.
2. Especially when a new player is let into a base: they forget that they have to re-lock a door after entering their code. Otherwise the door is left unlocked.
or #3 someone brute forced the code lock using the most commonly used codes: http://www.datagenetics.com/blog/september32012/

People can't figure out how the hell someone got in and stole their stuff. But as a result, people start either crying hackers or admin abuse when this happens. And I'm seriously leaning towards #2.

I know this is going to come off as stupid sounding, but did you happen to post the combination on in game chat? I ask as a surprising amount of people forget/don't realize in game chat is game world wide, say their lock combination and then think they got hacked when they find their stuff gone but the base still up.

A few times I've found said players' bases, and entered 19xx (xx being the number in their name) and that was their door code.
We raided our neighbors over the weekend and during mid raid, with the bad guys hiding in their safe rooms, a clan mate GUESSED their code correctly and we got in (6969) it was a free for all after that!
Next time I'm on I'm going to try the top 20 pins on 10 different bases. By the odds listed I should get in one.
I remember one time when me and my friend attempted to befriend someone that we met whilst mining resources. To be fair he took us back to his iceberg, fed us, clothed us and gave us a small shack. But then we noticed he was starting to become abusive. We witnessed him scamming, being racist and just not being a nice guy in general. So we decided it was time for payback. He was wise and locked us in our cabin with a codelock. Luckily I guessed it because I became bone idle :p It was 1999 eZ. We went to their main base and the code was also 1999. Loot for dayssssssssss :p
the only time we guessed a password was for when we already cleared out an entire base.. and we had one guy who was just messing around and guessed the pass :P good thing is we weren't able to get to the main cupboard so after that, we all authorized and repaired the base completely. the owner didn't knew what the hell happened.. nothing was broken, nothing was disturbed, but all loot gone.
What type of server do you play on? If it is a modded server and they are using Oxide you could do it via Teleport and save. When new players spawn and start building bases sometimes they do not get a solid build leaving areas exposed. A player can then go onto one of the foundations, save a HOME TP setting. When the base is finished or nearing completion the player can then TP into your base, find your tool cupboard, authorize themselves then remove your lock (or virtually anything else)

Or is it one of those modded servers where you can destroy a week worth of work just by having cupboard access?
If anyone gains access to your cupboard, they have access to your entire base. Granted, the more cupboards you have, the more difficult. However, only having one cupboard and the perpetrator gains access? Done The lock would not have anything to do with it. When you gain access with a cupboard you gain access to using the Remover tool. You would merely remove the door and put up a new door in its place (in this case, the lock is removed when the door is)
You don't have to have cupboard authorization to access a lock. I don't know about PLACING a lock, but I'm pretty sure you can remove one without authorization if it's unlocked.
I can get 3 out of 10 locked doors with the following codes: 1234 1111 0000 1212 7777 1004 2000 4444 2222 6969 9999 3333 5555 6666 1122 1313 8888 4321 2001 1010 1337 these are the top 21 4 digit pin codes. others that have worked are dates in 1985-2005 and 1948, 1918, 1916, 6868. I love solving a pin, taking the lock or replacing it. or leaving it and just adding myself to the cupboard and checking out your loot :)

Vanilla servers do not have a remove feature anymore. Doors are secure at all times unless they're unlocked. Unlocked doors can be changed, or removed without authorization. If you keep your doors locked, you will always have an entry point into a base until they manually destroy it.
