I apologize in advance if this has been mentioned before, or if I am posting this in the wrong spot.
However in discussing tactics on catching hackers with fellow admins, and friends... We have found that one of the most common situations with hackers, is that they will stop what they are doing the moment that we show up, even when invisible. ESP allows them to know when we are nearby, so they can choose when to use their hacks, and when not too.
So some ideas we have come up with for hacker prevention or intervention would be.
A) When wearing the invisible suit, Make it so the admins name does not appear, and that it causes no footsteps sound. This will not prevent ESP from detecting, however it will help with other situations.
B) Give Admins the ability to spectate players like in Garrys Mod and other FPS games. This will help establish if someone is using No-Recoil or snap shooting etc... Smart hackers will never use Aimbots, thus making it far harder to catch without looking down their barrel.
Would these things be possible and/or hard to implement?
Generally good ideas but I'm not sure if they will be added. Personally what I do is this.
As soon as I get a report of a suspected hacker I immediately pull up his Steam profile. Any vac bans? lots of game, friends or is the profile private?
Generally if the account is a new account, has no friends with limited games that have no hours played, you're likely dealing with someone doing something odd.
If the profile is private, my bs meter jumps though the roof, really no reason to have your profile private to a logged in Steam user, unless they're hiding something...
I then move on to complaints. How many did I get and are the reports from trusted members in my server?
If I'm still unable to make a call, I'll spawn my invisible admin suit, turn on god mode and TP to his area or to him. I generally sit back and watch for a few minutes as in my experience most have no idea I'm there. If they do it's clear they're hacking and you can ban.

Same this is the best protocol so far to be fair and deal with shit head hackers

I'd just like to reflect on this.
There are a few who'd like to keep their profiles private, me included. I don't understand hacker mentality, but I like my privacy. I know it's a bit alien concept to younger people but that's just how it is.
I'm just saying; it should never be an indication (in itself) that something is fishy.
We have seen a couple people on our server, log on with a separate account for a couple hours, with only a couple games on it, then go back to their "main account". I have pointed this out as being suspicious activity, as it seems like a testing tactic to find out if they work without being banned, before using their primary account.
