When looting towns or gathering resources rethink the usefulness of that rock. I'm not saying to use the rock for gathering, just have it out while you are running around naked from resource to resource.
I always keep one in my hands to trick other KOS players that I'm not worth any bullets they would waste on me. Yes, they will still try to shoot you but you will most likely survive the first wave of bullets. Then once you break line of sight they give up chasing saying 'it's just a nude' or 'he only had a rock'. This is because they see that you have your rock out. Little did they know you had full stacks of multiple resources a couple research kits ect. ect.
Be careful though as this only works if you are wearing no clothes and that leads you to not being able to heal if you are cold. If you are wearing clothes people won't buy that you only have a rock.
This trick is super fun and also allows you to walk up to people seeming harmless and then whipping out your pick axe and splitting their skull in half, if you are feeling devilish. Hey man, us nakeds have it hard in rust ;)
60% of the time, it works every time (really like 90 lol).
Most people know this trick.
I do this while carrying a shotgun and the other day a guy in full kevlar demanded tribute and when he got close enough to grab the stacks of wood and ore I dropped I one shot him. Needless to say that guy will now be shooting naked people on sight.
I have caught plenty of people trying similar tricks although most of the time they truly were a naked guy with next to nothing on them.
I find that most people are truly naked with nothing on them. I will have to try this method out, with an mp5 in my 2nd slot:) Yesterday I was running into the Rad Tanks and I literally bumped into a group of 5-6 people with kevlar and guns. I was about 20-30 yard from them, and one person in the group stopped and looked at me. I turned around and ran away into the field and into the rocks as soon as possible because I knew they were going to chase me. I hid by the rocks for a couple minutes and then hear one of them talk, literally 2 inches from me. They were looking for me, but never found me. If I was naked with a rock at that time, they probably would not have even pursued me. I still got away with a ton of resources >:]
