Hi guys, maybe this idea could improve the Rust's gameplay, please check the concept below and let's discuss !!!!

Its a Good idea i had the same one myself, you could also make Pit Traps with spikes in them.
Like it...
Kinda OP people will run into a new Sweden and bury theire shit
Raiding is gonna be useless soon if this comes in
That's a really cool idea.
Me likey !
like the idea
It is a good idea but I worry about the abuse of the same.
One solution is that things desaparescan after 2 hours (real time) or 2 days (game time) but it is not thereby lose the sense of reality
my issue is that is a lot of ground to cover if you are trying to find it. or a large number of stashed items that may be lost and still have to be accounted for by server memory.
personally i like the concept, but there has to be more limitation than this. rust isn't supposed to be safe.

I think the easy solution to that would be to mark it on your map, and if you get killed someone finds your stash map on you then well its a Treasure Hunt!
Good luck getting this implemented. Unless rito finds a way to crack down on hackers in 2.0 someone is just gonna esp their way to your underground stashes.
How about you Hide Them , They get a high Decay like 1 hour to get it back
just imagine being chased and the only one idea comes to youre mind fast burry it
Like in Blood Diamond when he also burry`s it to get it back later
But you have to hurry it will despawn soon.
In this Kind it would be balanced. because its a Temporary Stash that could kill youre good loot

yes this is nesessary

Would probably be best if you couldn't perfectly hide it. Along with tiny storage capacity.
It would just have loose ground, you would have to hide it under plants, etc.
+1
Just make those ugly ass potato monsters seek buried stashes.
If they add this then they need to add metal detectors or something you can use to find them.
I really like this idea. The only thing I'll add is you can't make it totally blend in, hard to see but able to be found. Also you could only put 1 item per pit and it would take 15-20 seconds to make or open back up. That way it's not a storage solution but an anti "OMG I LOST IT ALL FUCK THIS GAME, FUCK YOU GARY, FUCK YOU GOD OF RUST, GOD DAMN IT!!!!!!"
[...]it's not a storage solution but an anti "OMG I LOST IT ALL FUCK THIS GAME, FUCK YOU GARY, FUCK YOU GOD OF RUST, GOD DAMN IT!!!!!!"
Ahahahh yeaahhh exactly!!! you got it! not a storage place like boxes, but more like a savepoint for valuables. I like the way you express your frustration after being raided xD
;46011160']Raiding is gonna be useless soon if this comes in
Not if digging/covering is long/hard enough, because when you craft objects you need a quick access to your resources<=>workbench<=>furnace (and so use boxes) else it will be too long to do "go and back" between your house<=>underground stash (UG stash).
So you will still enjoy to find boxes full of resources in houses, but for sure most of the valuable objects will be hidden underground. So it will be exciting trying to find where the f*** this guy has hidden his metal, M4 and C4. Raiders will have to spy their victim before raiding him...
my issue is that is a lot of ground to cover if you are trying to find it.
Yes and it has to be very difficult trying to find random UG stash, almost impossible. The only relevant way should be to spy people!
a large number of stashed items that may be lost and still have to be accounted for by server memory.
lost UG stash => rare looser owner
abandoned UG stash => treasure for other
but yes server memory has to be preserved, the idea of decay is good and realistic, stuff inside UG Stash should decay (ex: Quantity of metal fragment decreasing with time=>become rust) with different decay speed (food/tissue/wood/organic material => quick decay, metallic object => long decay) and when the UG Stash is empty it disappears from server and become just ground again!
To prevent people from digging/hidding everything everywhere, it has to be long to dig (rock~3min, hatchet~2min , shovel~1min)
and costly in energy/health (like in reality, you almost die to dig your hole :P)
Then it's quicker (~10 sec) when you dig again on an existing UG stash.
rust isn't supposed to be safe.
but rust isn't supposed to be frustrating. And the act of digging/hidding is not safe, you are vulnerable people can see you.

Partially hidden, like this ? =>

lol, love that last pic XD
rust IS frustrating though, because it requires a lot of time to get set, and potentially dying long before you get into a position that you can defend yourself. but it is that danger that makes the game thrilling/frustrating, and makes it more wonderful when you meet someone who is genuinely or temporarily friendly.
perhaps i need to clarify though, i mean that rust (to me) is a game where you are initially in danger, and try to create safety by building a home, crafting armour and weopons, and looting resources. without heavy restrictions on the underground stashes, a player could create safety from the get go without particularly any effort. and i appreciate that being in the open can be dangerous, but no more than obtaining resources such as wood, and with a greater benefit:risk payoff.
the durability loss is an interesting idea though, and might be enough to balance it...unfortunately it doesn't work in terms of metal frags, food etc since they don't have durability values.
Knifey, just make them decay then. If its a stack of something, the amount starts reducing. Along with making the dug area slightly visible, should be good.
durability does not apply to objects but the hole itself
I like the idea of digging and hiding objects
I am extremely happy with the idea of spying before stealing but crero piercing that would cause a fatal imbalance in the game.

Yeah like that, so you would have to shove it under the plants to hide it more.
Probably a little closer to the first so it's easier to spot.
