With the latest wipe, my usual server reduced its map size and when I started playing Friday, the action was so compacted, my friends and I found it too difficult to get established. I'm one of those players that likes to build, scavenge and very occasionally raid. I never really logged may hours in Legacy, but one thing that I remember was the sheer vastness of the map and most interestingly, about 80% was desolate where no animals spawned. I remember walking in a straight line for so long I starved to death! I really liked that and think something should be added to the new map progen. For example, have a current map layout in the center, say equivalent of a 2000 or 3000 size now with all the rad towns, animal and material spawns. Encase that in say a circular mountain range of varying peak heights (and I mean MOUNTAINS, very difficult to scale depending on size) with a vast open landscape on the other side, but very little resources (food in particular) apart from wood - and offer a consequence for living off human meat after so long. This would give the PvE players a big open playground to build fancy bases and feel isolated, but would be forced to come into the center occasionally for food and other essentials. Such a natural congregation will create the PvP element that others love. This would especially come into its own when vehicles come in. Servers would need to run for quite a while to make this effective - at least a month Thoughts?
