1: How long does it take for something to despawn that is dropped from inventory? I'd like to hide keys, but not if they will disappear within a few minutes.
2: When you destroy a tree, is it gone for good or does the procedural map drop more back in? I ask because I found the fastest way to get wood (at least when I played a few days ago) is to simple hit trees, but after farming 500 wood or so the tree is then destroyed and disappears. If they don't come back, could a team of Newmans theoretically take out a forest?
I've noticed the trees respawn eventually although I have no idea how long it takes, nor if they are in the exact same spot or just close by. I have mined wood from trees in an area and later mined them from what was the same general area.
As far as items being despawned... I am not sure how long it takes if at all. In the past players on my server have strewn skulls all over the place and they can be found until the server is restarted; which is at least once a week.
