Needing tools in you're inventory toncraft specific items.

Here is my idea, to craft, you will need a workbench, it will work as a table to craft in. But to craft, you need more tools than you're hands, so for example, to craft wooden planches, you will need wood, and a handsaw :

And to craft a hand saw you will need normal wood, and some metal fragments.

to craft some swords or armor, you will a furnace, and an anvil ?
Yes, some lower tier stone anvils( just a freakin' rock), and higher metal anvils.
So to craft them, you will need to have metal and wood on you and be close to those two things, and for the interface, you will click the tool you want to craft in the crafting menu, and it will tell you [anvil & furnace required] + [materials : x metal frags & x wood] and then you can craft it :)
And the procedure should be more complicated for the more advanced stuff, and lastly if you don't have the required "crafting benchs" you're crafting loading bar will be stuck in the middle, so that you can move to the other bench to finnish it :D but to craft basic tools, stone hatchet, torch, arrow, should be craftable without anything but faster with a crafting bench :)

although saws and tables and things make construction easier, they really aren't needed. people can build log houses with a decent axe and enough time, we just have found easier ways to do it over the years;)

But i think this technic should be used to craft armors/guns/swords, because you cant craft swords with only a wooden benche and you're hands
