Is this for serious? Cuz, not every day you see someone ask why a modern game isn't working properly on a 7 year old GPU?
Im getting these problems too.
Is this for serious? Cuz, not every day you see someone ask why a modern game isn't working properly on a 7 year old GPU?
Hey, I only upgraded from the same card this year. Jumping to a 970 was one HELL of an upgrade.
I have the Same Problem
on the topic of graphics glitches I'm still noticing LOD errors especially for foundations and floors (roof floors)
on the topic of graphics glitches I'm still noticing LOD errors especially for foundations and floors (roof floors)
Yup, foundations and floors don't show up until you are about 30 meters away. Also, rather than showing low res versions of the building elements from far away, it just doesn't show any. Buildings start to appear from nowhere as you approach them.
Same issue occurring here too. Sky textures missing, tracing of structures. Sea keeps flashing / disappearing too.
I have the Same Problem. FAST SOLUTION PLEASE!!! [editline]20th March 2015[/editline]
I have the Same Problem
Ya lo has solucionado?
Biggest issue for me is the fact stone floor and foundations are invisible when any distance away.... It's like you have X-ray vision, you can see inside from above and all my boxs and furnaces etc D: ugh.
I have the same problem
There is no solution for now.
Is this for serious? Cuz, not every day you see someone ask why a modern game isn't working properly on a 7 year old GPU?
Man, the game runs just fine on medium settings on my old potato... though i have to agree that this is a game finished a few years ago based on nowadays most stable (also finished for years now) game engine, so there shouldn't be any bugs/glitches in the game... Update 561677. Problem not disapeared. "Motion shades" still be on the screen.
I am getting the same issue with white sky, day and night. They need to FIX this soon or I will DROP my server i am renting.
I just really need to know why these people have upgraded to 64x systems when they can't be bothered to buy a 20$ stick of ram. And you're seriously still using a dual-core? I think I know your problem.
They need to FIX this soon or I will DROP my server i am renting.
it's your server. *shrugs*
it's your server. *shrugs*
That's right it is my server that I am paying for and Why do they always update stuff and dont think to test it out first or think about guys that dont have 2g's into there systems. I know I have an older PC but it worked just fine on lower settings before the update! Now it's not worth playing at all till they give me a fix or something.

Thats how i bought that pc 3 years ago, not a complete rig, parts-by-parts, most of it second-handed. So what? I can run farcry 3 on ultra. I have 5g ram and a 64bit processor, i don't see any reason why i would use an x86 os... i think i know your problem: you are one stupid 'murican, dude.
Man, the game runs just fine on medium settings on my old potato...
Either you are lucky or that is quite a good potato. I am guessing decent graphics card and CPU? Game runs somewhat badly for me, with FPS around 20-25, on the worst settings with shadows turned off and a low draw distance. It is playable but doesn't look great. I don't think all the old potato machines are running this game well right now. I am on an i5 with 8Ggs Ram but not a great graphics card.

That's all. So go ahead and continue demanding they fix the game for your decade old computer, and hold your account hostage too while you're at it. That's a fan favorite that never seems to get old.

This could be a problem with people running the game in DX modes other than DX11. I'll try running the game in DX9 and report back in a bit. [editline]22nd March 2015[/editline] Scratch that, it's not DirectX.
;47375604']Hey! You may be right. My videocard supports only DX10. But, how to run RUST in DX9 (or openGL) mode? I wanna test that.
Actually, it seems Rust runs in DX9 by default on all systems. I tried DX11, the water was invisible and the game crashed in about 10 seconds. Performance with openGL is terrible, but you can try it if you want. Here's the command: -force-openGL Just add that to your launch options and it should launch in openGL mode.
-force-opengGL didn't fix it.

Its not that we're complaining about running a game on a 7 year old GPU, its that the game ran perfectly fine (at least for me) prior to the update. If you'll actually step back and try to appreciate Garry and Facepunch's vision, it does not include limiting gameplay to modern expensive setups. Anyhow, back on topic. There was a twitter update around 24 hours ago mentioning a skybox update, so I suspect it has been patched, just awaiting roll out to the community servers.

I guess all i need is a we hear ya and are working the issue as soon as we can get to it! BF3 had the frozen at loading that they never fixed and no one ever said exactly what caused it after 1 1/2 years. Just a little acknowledgement that it is being or will be looked at always helps a lot!!!
Fixed in dev branch!
