For people not playing for a reason what reason is it? I personally cant stand: The key/lock system right now, we need the combination lock back Not a stable road in the game that I can tell making the map annoying to navigate If they just did these things Id say its real baseline and adding a cool fishing system and new monsters would be nice.
Sorry, which animals don't move? I've encountered Deer, Pigs/Boars and Bears and they all move around? Maybe there's one/some I haven't seen yet? I think the procedural maps are actually quite fun. It forces you to take the time to explore the maps, find local landmarks you can navigate home to and so on. It would be good if you could control the size of the map it generates (small/medium/large) - that would probably solve most complaints. I'm not a fan of the lock system but it is just concept right now and it's been said that other locks / tiers will come. I died and lost the keys to my doors so I'm effectively locked inside my house now.
I buy the game only few day ago and only played experiemental since but here is my opinion : -Key lock is an dangerous system for now but it don't need to be removed. They only need to add a upgrade system for the look where you can enter a combination lock -Animals move for me, but very slowly. They just need to speed them up. -THIS. That a very important thing. For me, road are more important than lighthouse or giant gear

You can have a random generated map while keeping a looping road on the map and buildings. They will probably bring it back but for baseline standard it really should have it...
I don't know if it's just a performance issue or if it is that the mechanics aren't finished, but moving, attacking, etc. all seem off compared to legacy. I still play legacy a lot, and when I try experimental, I feel like I am running on ice and am half drunk when strafing or attacking. It's hard to explain, but that's the best I can do. Conceptually, I like where it's going and I can definitely see the potential, but as a 'playable' game, I still prefer legacy.

The combat in legacy was actually pretty fun when you weren't dealing with hackers or lag. The experimental combat feels very glitchy and "off".

In other words, desire lines, paths that are created by people merely using the path and wearing the ground out into a route. So, roads will make a return, but they won't be permanently fixed in place, like the road in Rust_Island_2013, unless the devs change their minds again.

It's not make to be a competitve PVP game and it's totaly ok for me, because it's a survival Pvp game and not an ordinary close combat game.
What do I need to happen for me to play Rust now: 1. Make the gameplay as good as Legacy. Legacy is not perfect, but the system works. New version is not anywhere close yet. I would guess we will get near baseline in 6 weeks. Not any sooner, maybe longer. 2. Improve the key system. 3. Stop servers being wiped every 2 days. 4. Stop game breaking bugs like the current ones that kill you and make you lose all your stuff. 5. Fix combat so it approaches a level as good as that in legacy. Long range combat (guns or bow and arrows) need to be much better. Also, if they don't improve performance I will not play very long. Please try to make it somewhere near the legacy version. Bonus: 6. Put in enough monuments and object to make it comparable to legacy with the buildings. Another way new rust is not anywhere near legacy yet. 7. Improve the maps, so there is not the general feeling that the legacy map is so much better. Sure, it may be pretty - but the legacy map is better because it a) provides so many hiding places and b ) uses mountains as boundaries to define clear areas of the map (this field here, this rocky area). I really hope the devs realize the new maps are not good enough yet. There is widespread feeling the new maps are too boring - just rolling hills without boundaries or enough rocks and objects in them.

We aren't comparing the Rust formerly known as Experimental to CounterStrike, we are comparing the Rust formerly known as Experimental to the Rust currently known as Legacy. BTW, If PvP and combat weren't important to Rust, I doubt they'd have hired one of the guys who basically created CounterStrike. Legacy does have fast and accurate aim. It has weapon sway, recoil, and bounce while running. Going to some kind of 'fuzzy' combat would be a huge step backwards. It is survival, but the draw isn't surviving hunger, or thirst, or bears. It's surviving each other. You don't build houses to keep out the bears.
I need roads and small towns with loot....points of interest.
We should though; we should build houses to keep out bears and players.
I need roads and small towns with loot....points of interest.
That is what landmarks are for though. They already have it planned to provide special loot.
We should though; we should build houses to keep out bears and players
If I was building it just to keep out the bears, I wouldn't need so many gosh darn doors.

I know they plan for a drawing map and such but mannnn the road really was a nice touch and would work fine with the new map system. Hard to do serious exploring or long range PVP assault One or two road designs on a set standard for the map then everything outside and inside the road can be randomly generated.... but have it for people that choose to utilize it.
I need roads and small towns with loot....points of interest.
Yeah man I here you, world feels lifeless. I hope they add fallen roten tree's, broke cellphone tower, a road, a hangar, and a couple of concrete buildings soon. Nobody is asking for a GTA city

I dont think they want the new game become a competitve shooter. The new weapon don't seem very accurate and i dont think the rust team want the game become a WW3 simulator
I think I understand what NoPr0n means. Yes Rust has PVP, but it is not meant to be a first person shooter, but more of a sim. Rudimentary weapons are going to have poor aim and firing. Scavenged weapons will be better, faster, stronger, but will have very limited ammo, or will fire poorly with crafted substitute ammo.

It's pretty accurate xD
it is not meant to be a first person shooter, but more of a sim
I don't know what it is meant to be or what the plan is in terms of what it is 'supposed' to be, but the draw of Rust was, by most accounts, twofold: basebuilding and PvP. You would grind to get stuff and build better bases to protect your stuff, and most of the stuff was backup stuff for the stuff you'd carry around to PvP (insert George Carlin's 'stuff' bit here). I would welcome more PvE -- I think it'd create more of the emergent cooperative, community play that Garry talks about, but I don't see how Rust could be successful without strong PvP.

Just for smoother and less glitchy combat. Legacy rust combat had plenty of glitchy issues, but still felt better. I think you are in the minority if you think that people hitting you whIle in your screen they are 50 feet away is a feature.

Plus, i was only talking about firearm ;)

Its a pretty heavy PVP game the survival players are the minority from what I see in the game. I just want to have a path to follow when I feel like using it, a empty world inside a forest gets old really fast.

You have the Sun, features that stand out (mountain shaped like a boob, or Garry's ever present phallic rocks), and monuments. As for survival players being a minority, that is absolutely incorrect. With the exception of one server, every server I have been on despises the battletrolls and mindless KOS types. They are in the minority now, luckily.
