Server Wipe Warning: Please, never do this again... not that early.

First of all, I really like where the game is going. And yes, i know its current state is still alpha. But I want to advise on when to bring sensitive info like 'server wipes' out. This round, we already knew about the server wipes around the weekend. This means that all servers die. Just Die. There are no players on the server anymore. From 50 to 0. Everyone is waiting for the update, days before it actually happens.
I wish that info like this will only be told 1 or 2 days before it happens
No, they have to wipe it atleast once a month.
Terrain generation is changing, other things aswell.
Imagine a server not getting wiped for atleast 6 months, the map would be unplayable and laggy as hell.
Maybe read again lol, i'm not against wiping, i'm against telling that it's going to happen a week in advantage.
And there will be no force wipe this week... because the update is not ready...
The mandatory wipes are schedule. First Thursday of every month.
That said, I can understand the frustration. The server I play on a lot accidentally wiped last week. There hasn't been a lot of activity since because people can't be bothered because it's going to wipe again this week. But I expect the next 3 weeks to be fairly busy.

You have a source for that? I know there was a problem with the last stage of loading the terrain but it didn't really look like a very serious problem. Same for the pink buttons.

From Rutafied:
10:35am EST - Patience. Today, we must practice it because unfortunately, there will be no update. Long and short, the development branch hasn’t been tested enough to go into the wild yet. Yesterday, the terrain improvements branch was merged into main. Since then, the development builds have been pretty fucked. The team is working hard on fixing them, however, it’s not going to be done in time for an update today. The update is now expected to hit sometime early next week.

Ok, i see. Well I expect another drop in population from the weekend then ;P
You see, these wipe announcements stop people from doing anything.

On the contrary. People go crazy before the wipes, at least on the servers I frequent. Alliances are broken, raiding intensifies, griefing skyrockets, and the game gets wild. End times, my friend. You can either cower in your 1x1 armored bunker or you can proudly run out, spear in hand, to wreak a little havoc.
I didn't see that at all on my server, even after the messages went out we still hit our cap of 50 every night. People just shifted from building to BP hunting, and those who were set on BP's used all their C4 and blew shit up lol
1) Why should players waste their time on a game that's just going to lose all your progress in time for the next update.
2) Until this game can survive more than a couple weeks between wipes, it doesn't matter if FP announces the wipes or not; We know what their update schedule is like, it doesn't take a genius to see that there will probably be a wipe with it.
Your suggestion just sounds selfish because you don't have another game to play during slow rust days.
People really do complain about anything and everything.
I wish that what they said on rustafied was a delayed April Fools joke :D
Every fucking time.
Every fucking update.
Every update, someone makes a thread bitching about what day the update is on and why it's terrible for them.
Every fucking time.
Welcome to alpha, kids. Permanence isn't a thing yet. Your expectations (or the expectations of your players) are too high.
With regards to the update being pushed back a week for more testing - I'm all for this, and I'm glad it happened. Seen updates before where there were horrible performance drops etc, and if the FP team think this needs more time to stop nasty bugs getting into main, then that's fine by me.
