• Zen and the Art of Rust: Gryms Tree House, part II The Golden Bridge

So after the last tree house i built, i decided i wanted to try and link up two tree houses in a "Ewok" sort of design. There are no rope bridges so i had to resort to typical Rust type bridges. I didnt have to build a bridge i could have built a temporary tower to the gap, fill it, and remove the temporary tower. This design is Asymetrical rather than Mirrored which i later realised was what i really wanted but it did not matter too much because i still achieved my goal. With Asymetrical Designs its important to get your base foundations aligned, this I mean by where the Staircases begin from the ground. They MUST be on the same foundation level. That I may do next time. It was an important lesson one i had not taken into account when I was planning it. The further away you begin the stair case around a tree the higher up you can go in one rotation around the trees trunk. I must say though it turned out rather well. The final placing of lanterns at the bridge were what gave the Golden Bridge of Rust its name. Its very laggy when you look in its direction, you really do need to turn off shadows if you want to move freely. By turning the Shadows to 30 its still laggy but you get to see its lanterns and it all lit up. Wow, that's a lot of lanterns! You must have made a ton of metal fragments! I'm not as into building tree houses, but I have made quite a few "sky boxes" perfecting my base design, which consists of a 3x3x3 box house, floating in the sky, at the end of a really long ladder. Would love to do some collaborative building with some others sometime, all my buildings have been single-handed, and it can be slow going, and with no one to celebrate the glory with at the end! Would love to get involved in building a big village or community on one of the more stable servers...
That's some awesome work! Was this solo? And how did you not get greifed during all that building time?

The server is generally quiet on the pvp side so you can build without disturbance. As for the lanterns well that's the plus side on being a co-admin and being able to insta-craft lanterns lol..im not just into tree houses i do like to build all sorts of things, right now im building a wizard tower thats 15x15 foundations and will be 50 storeys high. Plus people had to be pretty stupid to fight against a co-admin with insta-craft ability. :) but yes it was solo. All my builds are.
