QUESTION - Large wood Chest with Code Lock - hard to break or same?

if I put a code lock on a large wood chest will it be harder to break or same as without lock?

A code lock makes it no harder to break than without.

I believe the only benefit to code locking boxes is that some of your gear gets destroyed instead of dropped if they break it open. No extra HP, like crunch said.

I always put my large storage boxes with a code lock behind a windowed room, put window bars up, you can grab what ever you want.
