I have played Rust for a long time, when legacy was the main rust and before it came to steam but... I can't play anymore. It started after experimental was playable, my game crashed (can't remember the error) and it hasn't been the same since. My game takes a while to load up the home screen, gets stuck on bootstrapping and creating items. But when I try to load into a game and join a server, the game crashes after about 2 minutes of cycling through the server loading messages. I have verified my game files, reinstalled 3 times, turned off all my firewalls and pretty much done everything in my power to make it run but it just doesn't want to play the game. Here is my latest crash log- I try every few days:

According to this, you have 1GB of RAM, not 4:
Error occurred at 2015-07-06_084010.
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Rust\RustClient.exe, run by Conor.
98% memory in use.
1024 MB physical memory [55 MB free].
2048 MB paging file [1024 MB free].
3000 MB user address space [76 MB free].

Given that Rust's minimum specs are 4GB, and right now 8GB is much better to have to avoid out-of-memory crashes, this would be the problem.
If this is a surprise to you you may wish to run MemTest86 to test your RAM and find out if the other sticks in your system have failed or something. Your CPU's only a few years old so it definitely doesn't seem right that your system would only have 1GB. Also, make sure the sticks are seated properly, but only after you've grounded yourself to make sure you don't fry the sticks with static electricity.

Hey, thanks for replying, I know for sure that my computer runs at 4GB of RAM because I can run other games such as Dirty Bomb and CS:GO, (also I just checked) is there anyway to allocate more memory to Rust?
Well, that's weird. 4GB will cause crashes for out of memory as well (it's entirely what I was expecting anyway), but it's extra weird that it seems to think it's only got 1GB -- the paging file is typically double system RAM so a 1GB RAM stick would have 2GB of swap by default.
Verify Rust's file integrity, make sure you are not opted into any betas in the Betas tab, and reboot. Crashes may happen because you've got 4GB of RAM, but it's odd that it'll do that.
Dirty Bomb and CS:GO also have lower memory requirements than Rust (3GB and 2GB, respectively) and are not a solid comparison. Although it'd suck, I could see it being possible to run CS:GO that low.
Open up dxdiag and confirm how much memory is listed in the "Memory" field on the main tab. Hit no about checking for signed drivers.

Just ran DxDiag and it confirmed the same thing- 4GB of RAM ready to use- So why is Rust not wanting to use the rest? I'm not in any betas and my files are all there. I run both CS and DB at about 100+ frames on high on cs and medium on Dirty Bomb. I ask the same question, is there a way to make Rust use more memory?
I'm not aware of any launch switches to explicitly force Rust, or any Unity-engine title, to see the full amount of system RAM when it, bizarrely, seems to refuse to.
Also just FYI in case there's any confusion, I'm not a Rust dev.
