• Rust makes GPU temp skyrocket???

Rust makes my graphics card temp instantly rocket up to 90c+. I have tried the "fastest" graphics setting, I have tried the "good" graphics setting, I have tried the regular version and DX9 version. I don't know what's going on, and this doesn't happen when I play other games. Yes, I have the game locked at 60fps, if it was any more than that my GPU would explode.

If AMD, you could enable Overdrive, and reduce the power profile of the card slightly to meet your temperature requirements. We've had glorious weather here of late, and I decided to sacrifice a little performance for cooler temps as it was getting a little toasty. On another note, it is a little silly that the title screen rags the GPU so much, but it's a work in progress so shit happens.
Drivers?

Yeah, it's been pretty hot here too, but I don't think it would affect the temperature of my GPU that much.
Is your case airflow good? Do you have any case fans and if so how many? Have you tried increasing your fan speed on your GPU using a tool like MSI Afterburner? Have you cleaned your case and components out for dust? If you answered yes to these questions and have an adequete amount of fans (I'd say 2-3 is good for normal use) and you still have these issues then you may have to re-apply some thermal paste to your GPU, I wouldn't reccomend this if you don't know how to in the slightless. Even if you do that and you still get issues I would look at investing in another cooler for your GPU and if worse comes to worse, you may need a new one entirely. [editline]7th July 2015[/editline] Hot weather can also affect your temperature, so keeping your room cool can help even a little bit.

I have 2 case fans, not including the one on my GPU. I use Asus GPUtweak to control the fan speed, and I have it on 100% when I play rust, I use an air duster on it every other day. I don't know how thermal paste works.
Are you forcing Rust to use your GTX 760? For whatever reason, Rust doesn't always use the chosen GPU from it's settings. This is especially common when you have an integrated GPU alongside your dedicated GPU (your GTX 760). You can force rust.exe to use your GTX 760 through the Nvidia control panel and see if that helps.

I'm pretty sure I only have one gpu, as when I go to set it to only use my 760, only my 760 shows up. [editline]7th July 2015[/editline] Oh, and just some information, if it matters, my gpu usually idles at around 40-50 celsius. I don't know if that matters.
Also, would it be better to use the default "Play Rust" option or the "Rust DirectX 9" option?
I messed with my F2 settings and it now seems to fluctuate between 70C and 90C, but never going above 90. that's fine with me.

Do make sure you always have good airflow through your case, as I had a voltage regulator blow on my old AMD card, even though it was still a little below max temperature. Magic smoke escaped; lovely smell etc =P [url]http://www.geforce.co.uk/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-760/specifications[/url]
