• More ideas!

So those who have read my previous posts know that I like to make suggestions for several new items I would like to see in Rust and see what the community thinks of them. So with the wipe being delayed I thought I would jut kill some time and make another list of things and see what you guys think. Feedback is appreciated as well! (For anyone interested in the older posts, here are the links http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1468544 http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1468677) So, for starters, farming has been implemented at long last. So this opens up the possibilities for different tools and equipment as well as food. Farming: Farming Plots: These can come in a variety of sizes. They consist of simply dirt enclosed in a square made from logs. Can be placed on buildings, though the plants need sun. Maybe a plot learned from a BP with a water drip system that uses water like the campfire uses wood, though at a much slower rate. These prevent people from harvesting your plants that would be on the ground. Food: With farming comes plants, and I would like to see a number of plants in the game. Basic food sources would be first, such as potatoes, tomatoes, berry bushes, etc. But it got me thinking about other plants as well. Maybe aloe for simple medicine? Deadly plants to make poisons? Or 'less than legal' plants to make gamplay that much more interesting? The possibilities are endless. Climate: It only makes sense that something planted in a desert or snow would be harder to grow, so perhaps more water for plants in the desert and some sort of cloth cover to keep the heat in the snow biome, with the forest being the ideal place for farming. Animals: Close to farming, maybe we will see domesticated animals as well. A maybe for sure, but with ride-able horses coming not too unreasonable. Traps: With bear traps and landmines being in the game, why not add more? Ive suggested a few before, so I thought of some new ones this time around. Pitfall: A big hole, basically. Takes a lot of time to place and is covered by by a grass layer hiding the pit. Spikes can be placed in the bottom as well. players can climb out of the sides like a ladder, but it takes much longer, so if there is a large group raiding it can take some manpower out of their forces temporarily. Dart trap: Coming partially from my love of Indiana Jones, I thought a simple pressure pad and hole in the wall with a dart would be a fun addition. Pressure pad matches the tier of building its on, though can be seen if its being looked for. Requires a floor and wall next to each other. Electricity: With this being promised soon, why not implement it into some traps? There will be some auto turrets, so how about an electric fence, shock traps, Wall barricades: Imagine a barricade stuck to a wall to add protection. Can be made from pointy sticks, barbed wire, and metal spikes. I think these would be a good alternative to the layer bases we see now to defend against ladders. Electricity: We all know electricity is coming, so I thought I would throw in my 2 cents on how it should work. Batteries come in differing sizes and require a BP to make, these are placed in the vicinity (similar to the cupboard) of something that produces electricity, such as a windmill (random effectiveness) or a generator (runs on fuel) to store the power. Then, any electrical item used in the vicinity of the battery drains power. These items should require to be authorized as well so people cant run up and use the power from your base, draining the batteries. Can be multiple batteries to store more power. To extend the range, perhaps a system can be made similar to power lines, with a start point, which follows lines, then ends at a place which acts as another battery, though uses power from the original source. However, lines can be destroyed, severing the connection, so going long distances can be ineffective. I also saw concept art of wires on walls for the distribution, which is also a good idea. Misc.: Random ideas that I had as well. Either not enough for a category or doesnt fit in one. Skull club: Use human skulls and wood to make. semi-effective melee weapon. Cattle prod: Small battery and metal to make. Clothing: Antler/horn helmet, cloak (various colors), bone armor Bola: does little damage, but slows the target Recipies: with more food comes more ways to prep it, so lets say I put corn in the fire, it would then turn into cooked corn on the cob, and after more time pop corn! Plus mixing other foods together as well. Maybe some can provide different, temporary benefits such as slightly increased movement speed, gathering, etc. to encourage making food. Decorations: Bear rug, wall mounted trophies, assorted lights, tables and other functional furniture, assorted plants, banners, flags, decorative building parts, etc. Thanks for reading guys! Again, feedback is welcome!
The Pitfall is kinda Impossible to Implement but im really with the Fence stuff and Electricity
