The game is to impose restrictions on sleeping bags in the amount of 2-3 pieces, playing on the server can be moded to fend off endless raid where each player throws bags anywhere and do not appreciate them. thx for my bad english
Thanks for your bad English, and yeah I agree with you.
The abundance of cloth plants made this even worse.
I've asked garry about this in the ask.fm website, and he said that he's not going to change how sleeping bags work.
Not sure if that was a definite answer.
+1 I'd rather not have all the bushes around my base littered with the raider's sleeping bags nor have them constantly respawn just to continue the raid again.
hurrdurr let's rate this post dumb because I actually have a valid point.
Sleeping bags take out the survival aspect from the game. People don't care if they die if they have 3 to 4 sleeping bags in a certain area.
I think it would be more appropriate to make sleeping bags cost 350 Wood & 120 Cloth. Also make them harder to be destroyed. Say you need 2 rocks / 1 hatchet to destroy them.
This is not even cheap considering the abundance of cloth plants in the game! This will also make Cloth a valuable resource.
Maybe there could be a limit for the number of sleeping bags within 100m (or some other distance) radius.
The problem is not the sleeping bag mechanics or the amount of sleeping bags, it's the lack of any form of penalty to death other than waking up with ~50% of your health.
This is a survival game, they need to make death and suicide something that ruins your day and not a feature that allows you to travel across the map, raid like the energizer bunny or make rad town runs pie for even a newman.
It's a survival game, I think they should limit you to one sleeping bag. Only functional when it's inside the range of a tool cupboard which you have authorization for.
Having a thousand sleeping bags kinda kills the enjoyment for me.

Or when you spawn in a bag, it sets the timer on all bags within a radius.
As for death penalties, you could have a stacking health penalty. Usually you start at 50%. Die quickly a second time and it's at 30, then 20, etc. Pretty soon you start too feebly to suicide into rad town or effectively zerg attack.
Does nobody remember Legacy? They could simply reimplement the radius system they used for sleeping bags.
They should add the restriction of placinc objects on buildings only. If you want to place a box, bed, furnace, etc... You'll have to build a foundation atleast. Therefore you'll have to maintain it, otherwise decay will have its way :)

I actually cant remember, how did that radius System work?
What if sleeping bag took damage on every redrawn until it eventually wears out? Maybe x spawns and kills the bag.?

or u just put traps in the bushes??

Every time you spawned in your bag, all other sleeping bags in a 100m radius were on a temporary cooldown. It was to prevent people from putting dozens sleeping bags in their houses, and making it harder to defend yourself.

That's only half true. The sleeping bag radius was actually a fix for zerg raiding more than house defense. When they added the radius on sleeping bags, they also added beds that didn't have such restrictions but could only be placed in buildings. They were more expensive than sleeping bags too.
Yeah, but almost nobody used "real" beds. At least, in my experience. And I played legacy for 300+ hours.
They were expensive and took a lot of space.
or u just put traps in the bushes??
Yeah let me just make dozens of traps and put them in all of the bushes around my house, then reset them when anything touches them. No thanks.
At least make sleeping bag collider bigger. Right now you can dump like 5-10 bags in a relatively small area for very cheap respawn points. Have it so you can't have more than 2 per tile or something. Right now when raiding you can get into a house and see a room full of sleeping bags. They clutter the server and make for a rather exploitey spawn point.
BTW Do you know that if you jump from big heights on sleeping bag you get little or no damage?....
So in Legacy we could spawn 2 times in our house
1x Sleeping bag 5min Cooldown
1x Bed 4min Cooldown
and then at every Sleepingbag in an 200m Range
1600 hours legacy i no lifed that game xD
