Purchased the game, have a decent computer but cant play it because my pc isn't good enough?

I purchased the game back when it was in its very early stage. Back when there was no procedural or experimental games and where we only had legacy. If my memory serves me right, you said that Legacy would remain, but now I can't play it anymore. I wish I could play rust however, because I did buy the game and I very much thought that my new computer would be able to run the experimental better than my old one. My specs are:
RAM: 16gb
CPU: Intel i7-4720HQ 2.6 GHz Quad Core
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 960M 2gb
These pc components run GTA V on medium - high graphics settings and I get a constant 50 fps. With rust i get 10 frames if not less. Even at the absolute lowest settings, i get 15 frames. I know it is still in development, but come on I want to play the game. Somebody said that because it was in early stage, it eats up my cpu and that it cant handle it. So actually what facepunch is asking for is buy a brand new high-end computer so you can run your rust. Why don't you start making bundles where you get a top of the line pc with your game for only $1999.99.
please do something about it, I really wish to play this game!
My computer isn't much better than yours, and I get 60 frames on the highest settings. Sounds like your hardware isn't to blame.
I can't say anything terribly helpful but your hardware should run rust fine, definitely a software side issue that may be resolvable.
What version are your Nvidia drivers?
Maybe Rust is using the onboard gpu instead of the gtx 960m.

Make sure it isnt this OP. It wouldnt be the first time it's happened.
Check your Graphics confuguration.
Legacy is still available if you opt into the "beta" for it through the rust properties in steam.
Right-click on the desktop and set the default graphics adapter to be your 960M.
Driver Update on Nvidia is kinda needed i guess i had the same problem got 70fps now
Keep in mind that this computer is a Laptop.
That 960m ain't the same as a standard gtx 960.

Tbh I am surprised on those 60fps with similar hardware (on highest), I use a g1 gtx 970 and I don't get past 60fps.. But.. alright (and i am not even maxed on those heavy settings).
Like others have stated make sure your laptop is using the correct gpu. People had the same issue with shadow of mordor.
