Semi Automatic pistol and other weapons - Feedback

Great work on the game so far you got me back by making a huge dent in the cheaters and bringing in a P250 clone. Here is my take on how the weapons feel.
* I play solo so and live a somewhat poor lifestyle in Rust. I spent a lot of time on the battlefield servers to get a feel for the weapons and compared them to the original.
P250- Bravo, it feels just like legacy. It shoots the same but damage seems low as you have to plug someone a bunch if they have armor. In the battlefield server I have gotten two head shots and the guy is still standing. With only 8 shots it's no longer the poor mans equalizer where skill could allow you to at least compete. I still use it as it's affordable but since almost everybody runs around with AK's and Bolt's (in a group) you can't really defend yourself like you could in legacy. If anything, I wish it this weapon could get some love to help out the poor but skilled player. Also hiding behind trees does not seem as effective as it did in Legacy.
Revolver - Are the sights messed up with this thing? Maybe too much sway? I may just need more practice but the sights feel off.
AK - For the damage and accuracy it has, it seems a bit over powered right now. I would say up recoil or tone down damage.
Bolt - Feels exactly like Legacy. Seems Perfect
Shotgun - Feels exactly like Legacy. Seems Perfect
M249 - Great balance with damage recoil etc. Seems Perfect
SMG - Have not shot it yet but seeing that nobody uses them, it's not really a good sign.
All melee weapons - Swords and items are too expensive. Need to be way cheaper so people actually use them. You have swords and M249 in the same world so you have an issue from the design that's not easy to overcome. The melee weapons don't really have a place right now besides bows/crossbows and spears. If you find one it's cool but I would be surprised if anybody makes them to use. I found the best use for swords etc is to smash barrels. Or make guns substantially less reliable where they could stop working at anytime and you need to pull our your sword :). Or make swords very OP so they are a one shot kill (perfect for desperation or the behind silent sneak attack).
I was using regular ammo. If need the HV ammo to be more effective it should probably be cheaper. It's currently twice the gun powder but does not do twice the damage.
Gun fights seem to be shorter than they used to be and for me, shorter = less fun. I think it's primarily because armor protects too much or weapons damage needs to be lowered down. Still having fun but just my opinion what could make it a bit more interesting.
The Custom SMG is pretty alright, a nice middle point between a handgun and a full on assault rifle. I have managed to kill a naked dude that jumped me while gathering wood with like three shots to the chest. My friends I play Rust with say that shotguns are entirely useless, unless you use slugs, but those are pretty damn expensive.
I would love a buff to the handgun, and an alternate version with a higher ammunition capacity but less damage than the handgun. The handgun seems like it is supposed to be the equivalent of a M1911, so why not a Glock 17 equivalent?
Length of firefights largely depends on the situation, environment and equipment of the belligerents. I don't think anything should be done to increase the length of a firefight and the current dynamic should be kept.
SMG is good for killing lightly armoured players at close-medium distance due to its insanely high rate of fire.
SMG - Sounds exactly like it was before then so they nailed that also.
Shotgun was always close quarters only and it's still very effective that way now. There is something different as you could bounce from tree to tree before to close the distance. Now trees don't seem to offer the same protection.
Armor seems to be a lot more effective at the high tier than it was before, making some of the earlier guns lose their potency quick.
How big of a difference does the ammo make? I can't say I like all the ammo choices (just seems like adding confusion and the upgrades appear to cost to much).

High velocity ammunition has less of a drop, from what I have read in descriptions some HV ammo does less damage while others have increased damage
I lold at the AK part, it has the biggest recoil i have ever experienced in a shooter. No other game has a AK with such a hard to control recoil, neither ArmA, neither Squad or anything other.
HV 5.56 ammo is necessary for snipers and deals MORE damage. Only HV arrows deal less. I am also a big fan of the slug ammo mentioned above.
The ak was already nerfed a couple of times now, maybe it's fine now. The smgs are commonly used, they are a little cheaper than the AK. Also you don't give the enemy a high calibre weapon.

yea I agree, I'd use a rock over the AK atm, its just awful, its not even about controlling recoil, you cant control it, you basically tap shoot it and pray the bullet doesn't fly away magically.

Like any good marksman, don't shoot fully automatic. Also, take a knee and it barely burps. But maybe just tone down the damage some then.

Not true actually. While I think its retarded atm, its easy to just use a medium-high sens and drag the mouse down. Its what all "pros" do. Just increase your sens and learn to play with it.
Did some more testing. With bone armor on it's normally 5 shots in the chest but sometimes 4. I head shot and two hits the chest before they went down. With the AK it was 2 shots and dead. So yeah, the pistol can't compete that well with only 8 rounds and not enough damage.
The only weapon which messes up the hole balance is the bolt in my Oppinion the Range + Damage make it far too strong, No Bulletdrop, the ability to drop people even on bodyhits in 1 shot. I dont like it
The AK needs a slight DMG reduce and the P250 needs a buff in headshots and a bigger clip (the smallest clip is 9 on wiki). The shotgun and SMG seems okay (maybe I missed something). The M249 should have more DMG than the AK. The semi auto rifle I'm guessing is a battle rifle. I look forward to all the types of guns they release later.
