RADTOWNS: Why radiation is offiline ? I don't get it because of that getting a good items is much easier. Radtowns has became a battlefield. I liked the idea when '' radruns'' were much more risky and mostly ended with death. You had to be prepared to go in and get out in one piece.
BARRELS: Why just WHY ! barrels can't spawn in random places like before ... you need a cave a radtown or a road... There should be some chance of spawning barrel randomly. Would not be that awesome to respawn in the forest and find a barrel and bow inside it? After spawning first what you do is finding a road.. Because living on a very end of map makes no sense.
AIRDROPS: I love supply signal but they can be find only in airdrops. It's hard to get it when you are playing alone... SO ! i suggest give a MINIMAL (1%) chance to spawn it in those big wooden crates. Those crates are pretty much worse then green military one.
CHANGES I SUGGEST:
-Make radiaton back in radtowns. In the smaller one make it bigger but in those big make it small.
-Reduce chance of spawning barrels near road. Add chance to spawn barrels everywhere just like stones.
-Make supply signal spawn in wooden crates.

Radiation was turned off because it didn't work. You could be in a hazmat suit and it still killed you like you didn't have it on.
Barrels spawn along power lines as well. On some modded servers they spawn randomly.
I think radiation should spawn from random barrels when you break them.
I think radiation should also spawn from air drops.
I think random crates should be booby trapped and explode when you loot them.

It can be fixed ? Dosen't have to be removed.
Can you say WHY you don't like my ideas or what's wrong with them instead of sneefing?

I believe Garry said it would have to be completely recoded. They have other things they want to do, so it's probably low priority.
Radiation was removed because it had no real use except for being an annoying/frustrating mechanic which blocked progress in getting BPs. Most players just had sleeping bags at radtowns and did suicide runs hoping to get a good drop which is not good design or fun to do.
My guess would be if we do see radiation again it will be sometime after the XP system when monuments are no longer needed for BPs and can be transformed into something else. They did say they were removing radiation to rework it I believe, so they probably have plans for how it will be reintroduced in future when it can be more meaningful.
Radiation was one thing that distinguished rust from other survival games. I was one of players that prepared radpills , water before going to radtown. People which constantly keep killing themself and respawning had to put a lot of work to find items. That's what i exactly want. No more easy guns.
It's been disabled for like a year or so..........
I completely agree. Even if it wasn't perfectThey could even just bring it back the way it was temporary beacuse it would make if more fun than it is now.

It's disabled on Rust servers. There are a lot of private servers that have it enabled. Some even have timers. Or it's on during the day but not at night.
That's why I made this thread I'd love to see patch that makes rad going well.
I miss it too. I am really curious what the role of the dungeons ("radtowns") will play with the new xp system.
Sorry to sound like a broken record, but I'd really really really like a wasteland zone (like legacy) with pockets of radiation. Imagine setting up a base there, you have to wear your suit (or have a fallout room maybe) all the time and run into the populated areas for supplies.
Sigh... maybe when vehicles come in there will be more need for this....
In the new XP system the rad towns are still valuable, since you can get there high end stuff. Next to that, you are getting more XP from hitting barrels than hitting trees. (As far as I noticed) So going to a rad town still makes sense. Only now the bolt you get from the rad town at the start is much more valuable, since you can't research it! So be more cautious to hide that precious item when you get it;)

Even after xp these should still play a big part. When starting out, these places are the best. Getting a crossie, hatchet, pickaxe, etc.. are super helpful when fresh spawn
