I tried to log onto the game yesterday on my basically brand new account (a couple weeks i think), when i tried to join a server it told me i was gamebanned. I have never cheated on the account. Could the game ban be a result of trojans, rootkits, or any other type of malware? Could the ban also com from me installing some third-party software to modify my operating system (windows 8.1). I would like to know why i got banned as i never cheated on the account :(

The unjustly bans were from a few weeks ago and is unrelated to you, probably.
People who collect VAC bans like they're the millennial generation's version of baseball cards and then come here to declare their innocence are like tone-deaf people trying out for American Idol. It was funny the first 20 times... somewhere in the next 1000 instances it lost its charm.
The ban is from a definite cheat detection and it is permanent.
welp, there you go. not a false ban from rootkits.
i think it's safe to assume they closed that loophole after it caused problems.
