This is clearly the reason for the crash as its trying to write to memory that does not exist, I have 16GB. The game is literally unplayable for me ATM Please Help
I have litery the same problem with u i did manage to fix it by messing with the AMD recording program but it happens again to me now and i can t fix it. Had the same problem some while ago at the pre release branch. The patch after it fixed the problem. Now the problem is back. So probably it is a Rust problem with your PC. Most likely it will be fixed next update.

Have literally lost so many gear thanks to this crashing on me and someone killing me or looting me FML, can't blame them personally still really frustrating though

Thanks for trying to help but your answer is just not specific enough to be of help to me Its left me with more questions than answer, but ty for at least attempting to help.
Maybe the thing that solved my problem was from going to pre release to the normal branch. I had the problem at pre release, went to the normal branch, didn't had the problem anymore. But didn't try the pre release till then till the next update, when it worked again. Going from the one branch to another causes Rust to update within Steam. This might have solved my problem. It truly is annoying when you get kicked every 20 minutes.

Seems like we won t be helped... are we?
Did you try it yesterday/today after the newest patch? It might be solved now !

I think there will be an update in 2017 :nope: :what:
Run the game in dx9 and your problem should be solved, this is what I done and I haven't had a single crash in the 2 months since.
Run the game in dx9 and your problem should be solved, this is what I done and I haven't had a single crash in the 2 months since.
Thanks i will give this a try Anyone know if its -dx9 or -d3d9 in Steam Launch Options?
AMD has driver problems for over a half year now affecting a couple games. I think those two threads are worth sharing: https://community.amd.com/thread/198067?start=225&tstart=0 https://community.amd.com/thread/200862 EDIT: The 15.11.1 driver solution doesn't work for me anymore, am back on playing in dx9. Directx9 works but you will have some lower graphics like characters looking uhm glossy and the grass is static and not moving.

I'm not really convinced its a driver issue when Unity thinks I have 134TB of Ram but I'm not a dev so it could be. Its an R7 360 I Have and I'm not experiencing any black screens or BSODs just only an issue with Rust crashing all other games working fine on my rig with no crashes.
afaik this is purely your hdd space
I dont have anywhere near 134TB of HDD space either clearly something in Unity is broken on my config at least. Thats why the access violation, trying to write to something that does not exist. It would be nice if FP could give a more detailed answer I am not an expert on these things, just an intermediate programmer trying to make an educated guess. So i guess garry or whoever is in the dev team will be busy in fixing this problem officially see u in 2018
i guess my point is that user memory shouldn't really be being allocated other than in the form of the paging file. though admittedly it thinking you have >100tb of hdd space could potentially lead to the access error. bit out of my depth on this one i'm afraid;)

Just wanted to say you aren't the only one. I get an out of memory error when Rust loads, then maybe a half hour or so of game play then it crashes. DX9 option didn't do anything. Changing graphics settings didn't do anything.
