The current rust wiki lacks in my opinion, It doesn't give you a too in-depth feel. The articles are pretty basic. I plan to change that.

Em, the whole reason why wiki's are brought into existence is because you can edit (almost) everything so all articles keep improving.
So i don't see why we need this because it will contain A LOT less information as the current wiki.

True, but that's not happening, which is why I am going to have a small team of people dedicated to updating, adding tutorials, and making new pages constantly.
The other one is also annoyingly advertising their community, shoving it in the users face essentially..

On top of that, they're using quite annoying ads, I plan on having little to no ads. (I don't want or need money from this)

Exactly. Don't like the wiki, make it better. Not, make a new one with even less content and hope everyone will come and rebuild the wheel from scratch and somehow do a better job the second time.

The entire point of a wiki is that it's something that anyone can improve and that it can become a decent information hub, that everyone can add to.
Playrustwiki already has a decent userbase, and it's MILES better than most cookiecutter wikia.com garbage wikis. Their advertising is pretty alright and the community that they "shove in your face" is [I]literally a single box in the main page[/I]. You're not showing any of your work so you're not really bringing anything new to the table, and honestly it's pretty shitty that you want to divide information between sites like this.

Agreed, it seems to me that you could work on one of the current wiki's and bring a much greater benefit to the community a lot sooner than to try rebuilding one of your own. It's cool that you want to help out, there's just a much faster way available for you to do that.
