• Finding a Server's Loading Screen URL (sv_loadingurl)
    4 replies, posted
Hello! So I recently found it can be quite hard to find out the sv_loadingurl (which is the server's loading screen URL) of a server. I was wondering if it is possible to find it or not. I've tried a few things but none have worked so far. Items I've Tried: 1) Typing "sv_loadingurl" in console to see if it would output anything. It did not. 2) Typing "sv_loadingurl" in console, but not entering to see if it would auto fill out the value. It did not. 3) Checking the logs for any transferred data with the URL. I could not find any. I'm not sure that there are any lua scripts that could find the sv_loadingurl of a server, but I'm unsure. If you have any suggestions or information that could help, please provide it. Any help is appreciated, Icee2199
It's posted in green in the console when you connect, along with some other data iirc [editline]6th January 2015[/editline]
Thanks. Only issue is on some servers the second you connect your console is flooded with stuff before you can view that. I found it eventually, though. Thanks again, Icee2199 [editline]5th January 2015[/editline] What you can do to find the loadingurl if the server is spamming your console the second you connect and you are unable to view it because the console doesn't go back that far, you can start connecting to the server and after about 5 seconds cancel the connection. Check your console and it should display the green text with the loading screen URL.
You shouldn't really download the source code for these loading pages though as I know some people pay for them from developers.
