• Some source games fail to launch.

Now this isn't exactly related to Garry's Mod, but this section would be the most logical to post this problem in. Now, for the past few years every source game I have owned did not launch properly. They would stop at "Preparing to launch" and then nothing would happen, but recently most of them have started working again. Garry's Mod, Team Fortress 2 and CounterStrike Source all work. But Half Life 2, Portal and Episode two and the SDK's still have the same errors they did a while ago. I tried to load them manually through their directories, this time some of them display an error.
MountAppFilesystem() failed: SteamMountAppFilesystem (A bunch of numbers, probably irrelevant,0x1fd24) failed with error 4; Bad Launch Configuration"
. I get the same error when I open the vconfig application. I have tried almost everything to fix this - multiple -commands including -dxlevel90 or 80, -autoconfig etc. I have renamed/deleted/moved ClientRegistry.blob I have tried reinstalling steam and all of the effected games. I have restarted my computer. I have dis-enabled Steam community. I have de-fragmented all games. This has gotten extremely annoying over the years, so help me if you can.
