"Your map differs from the server" on my own server

Hi,

I bought a server recently. I added rp_downtown_v2_fiend_v2b. I uploaded it [I]directly[/I] from my computer.

When I restart the server, and try to join, I get the error "Your map [maps/rp_downtown_v2_fiend_v2b] differs from the server"

I redownloaded it from garrysmod.org, to no avail.

The problem with letting it redownload from the server, is that everyone ELSE who plays on my server will have to do the same. I don't want to do that.

rp_downtown_v2 works just fine, but not rp_downtown_v2_fiend_v2b

[b]FIXED![/b] : I fixed it by getting a different version of the map which was on garrysmod.org. Dunno why the original didn't work.

Try reuploading your map to the server.

Are you using FTP?

It usually means that you already have the map but it's different from the server's version of the map.

Try deleting the map from your maps folder on your client.

Occasionally I see it happen with some maps, I've never played a map and it downloads from the server yet it still says it differs. looking at the map on the server compared to the client... its EXACTLY the same. The problem is valves side.

huh. I deleted the map off my server files multiple times. I tried uploading it directly from my computer. I tried dragging it to the server directly from the rar. It's the same file, but doesn't work.

I want everyone who already has the map to not get that error.

It can be problematic if the server has it as addon and you have it installed directly installed into /maps for the opposite.

Not the case. It's a very new server. Even the CRC values for the maps match.

This sucks.

He's saying that if [b]you[/b] have the map installed as an addon it might be problematic.
