Hi
Every time I reboot and play garry's mod I have to validate steam files again, after which it will work. This really sucks because my steam has been spazzing out & remaining offline, so I spent my time with CS GO
I have like 50 random workshop mods but I had this problem before I had any mods, as I got them, as I used them, when I disabled them, etc.
My brother has the same problem but with both gmod & TF2 so when he joins servers without booting TF2 once he can't see its respective content.
Any idea why this is happening? Or is it just something to deal with?
It's Steam's issue.
This has been happening to a lot of people recently. Go into your main Steam folder, rename ClientRegistry.blob to anything else, restart steam, and then the validation thing should go away. For a few days, at least.

Just tried it out, and it works for me and my friend.
Damn. Shouldn't have fixed this problem first, now I can't play on offline mode. :saddowns:
Getting this also, I can't play in offline either ever since this has occurred I'd say for the past year. Very annoying, wonder why Steam hasn't fixed it yet.

Tried that a dozen times - doesn't work. I've gone so far as to delete my entire Steam folder and its contents from scratch and re-dll everything and it still persists. On my brother's computer and his account, too.
This is a Steam issue that randomly affects people and will be gone once Valve transitions all their games to the new SteamPipe content delivery system
