Freezing and Lag when switching weapons/using Toolgun/Camera

[del]For some reason, it seems that the game experiences very brief hangs when switching weapons, and experiences long freeze periods when using the camera or the Toolgun.
This only seems to happen in Multiplayer games, and seems to be related to the amount of content mounted onto the game.
The Toolgun and camera freezes seem to be present, yet far less severe in a self-hosted listen server; the weapon switch hangs seem to be the same.[/del]

To whomever it may concern:
If you happen to have stumbled upon this thread, chances are you've got 360 Total Security as your AV.
The quickest solution that I've found is to uninstall 360 Total Security, as it seems to clash with Garry's Mod.
There might be other ways to make it cooperate, but I haven't really investigated further.
The best solution I can think of is adding an exception for Garry's Mod.
