In a nutshell, a group of users decided to join and attempted to crash the server - all of their attempts were thwarted.
Then one of their alts got on and did this:

The moment the person above joined, he used the thruster tool and the server crashed instantaneously.
Is there any way in preventing this other than blocking the thruster tool? Honestly, I have no idea how he did it or why it happened, but I'm going to assume that he entered some sort of invalid value.
I can't find any other information on this error.
This is an old Source exploit. I don't think there was ever a fix for it, and blocking the thruster tool would do nothing.

Can you explain the exploit so it can get fixed maybe?

Something tells me it's caused by having specific characters in a convar that gets sent to the server.
