Hey guys,
I'm trying to get a Gmod server running. After installing srcds and updating it for Gmod, I forwarded the ports you see in the picture below. Sv_lan is set to 0, the server is visible to me in the server browser, and I can join using my internal IP. My friends, however, cannot connect. I've tried inviting them to my game, making them look the game up in the browser and telling them to use the connect command.
So, what am I missing?
Thanks in advance,
Flashtoo

Are they trying to connect using your internal IP as well?
If they tried to connect through your external IP and it didn't work, I don't know how to help. But if they were trying use the the internal before, using the external should work.
No, they were not trying to connect using my internal IP address. What I find to be the most odd thing is that canyouseeme.org CAN see me on 27015.
On an unrelated note, the OS + browser thing next to my post seems to fail hard; I've used Windows 7 with Chrome for over a year, and it keeps changing to XP+IE or W7+Opera.
Tell your friends to search the map your on and find the name of your server. If they join off the internet tab it should work.
I told them to do that, as I said in the OP, but they couldn't find it.
You don't need to forward all of those ports, you can get by with just forwarding port 27015 on the UDP protocol. You can optionally forward 27015 TCP if you want to use remote RCON access.
Make sure you have an exception for allowing traffic on port 27015 in the Windows firewall, because by default it won't allow incoming connections and people won't be able to connect to your server.
I had UDP 1200 and TCP 27030-27039 on because they were in my router's Half-Life 2 preset, and I heard something about UDP 1200 needed for Steam or something. I'll see what happens if I disable them. Though I already had an exception on port 27015, I'll try disabling Windows Firewall completely.
Edit: It's still not working.
Are you forwarding those ports to your computers local IP? It's not just a case of opening them.
Yes, I am. I decided to make a new game profile on my router and it sort of worked, even though I didn't do anything I hadn't done before, afaik.
Thanks for your help, everyone! I really appreciate it.
