Hello. I've been having this problem since earlier today, but:
Just recently, Gmod has started crashing before it loads to the main menu. I've tried re-installing Steam, verifying cache, and re-installing Gmod. Was there some kind of update I'm unaware of? There were three other cases just today, so I'm not sure if its just me, or if its Gmod. I haven't downloaded anything to trigger this, as it was perfectly fine yesterday.
Can someone help?
I've been having the same issue... I have tried everything you've tried plus disabling my Anti-Virus (Bit-defender) and firewalls with no results... Mind posting your specs?

Oh and also, every time I start it, the "Preparing to Launch" comes up, goes away, and then nothing happens. But when I try again, it says Garrys Mod is already running, and if I check my Task Managers Processes Tab, theres a "hl2.exe" in there.

Fixed it. All I had to do was delete my Garrysmod folder.
